We are providing support for adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities.

We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible. You will be supporting people who have learning disabilities, Autism and other health conditions. You may be asked to attend GP appointments and hospital appointments.

A full UK driving license is preferable.

We use a digital social care record system, to support daily recording, which will make your day-to-day tasks easier and allows you to spend more time with the People We Support.

Shift Patterns

This is a 24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts from 7:00am to 2:00/3:00pm and 2:00/3:00 pm to 9:00/10:00pm, sleep ins or waking nights, some weekends.

We are providing support for 3 adult ladies with learning disabilities and physical disabilities.

We tailor our services to enable people to be as independent as possible. You may be asked to attend GP appointments and hospital appointments. A full UK driving license is preferable.

We are looking for female support workers who can drive manual and automatic vehicles to assist us in our home in Gawthorpe, Ossett, Wakefield. We live with Autism and learning disabilities and need assistance to enjoy life safely in our home and in our local community.

Each of us has different ways of enjoying spending time at home, we enjoy watching films and The Soaps. We enjoy cooking and baking, reading and playing board/card games, and doing jigsaws. When in the community we enjoy visiting family and friends, social clubs, bingo, doing the supermarket shops and eating out. We need you to be consistent in your support and maintain boundaries we need to keep us safe. We all like opportunities to try something new.

We will need our support workers to support us all day in our home and community with developing community awareness, independent living skills, staying safe, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, managing anxiety and challenges specific to us.

Where will I be working?

RT is a registered care unit with a happy, family atmosphere, providing support to five individuals aged between 20 to 60 years old with profound Learning Disabilities, all of whom are non-verbal but fully mobile and active. Our individuals require varying levels of personal care and there is one to one support required for two of the individuals we support.

How do I get there? This service is easily accessible by both public transport and by car. If you were to travel by train from Coventry rail station this would 1 hour, by bus 1 hour 20 minutes and by car this would take 23 minutes depending on traffic. Please note this is coming from Coventry and is just a guideline.

3* Sherwood is situated about 4 miles from Wakefield Centre, this takes around 20 minutes by bus. Sherwood is a purpose built 4 bedroom bungalow where we support 3 ladies and 1 gent. The clients are aged between 35yrs to 65yrs. All clients have mixed abilities who all enjoy the local amenities of Wakefield but equally enjoy broadening their horizon further afield. 

The people we support at are looking for an outgoing lady that can drive and is available to work all shifts days, nights and some weekends to join a happy friendly outgoing team.

Cornish Close is 5 terraced bungalows next to each other in a private off road, cul de sac.  Cornish Close support 14 people (4 people in 2 of the bungalows, 2 people in the other 3 bungalows), who have physical, learning and mental difficulties, as well as epilepsy, autism.  People who live at Cornish Close are supported to live their lives to the fullest and their teams provide care, support and a close knit community atmosphere for all those that live there.  You will support people with their emotional, physical and cultural needs as well as assisting with any personal care needs that is needed and all aspects of daily life.

Everything we do is aimed at providing the very best quality and person-centred support in the right location at the right time, making a real difference for the people and communities we support.

The support is a 24-hour service; therefore, flexibility is essential. You will be working in our service in Broadstairs where we support 4 individuals. We offer a 24-hour supported living facility in providing support for adults with Learning Disabilities. We tailor our support to enable people to be as independent as possible.

Support Workers are linked to work with a specific person based on shared preferences and personalities creating a bespoke core team of staff. At this service, we are specifically recruiting for one individual who you will primarily be supporting.

Days can consist of supporting this individual to meet with friends or family, accessing health professionals, housework, shopping, day trips, cooking, holidays. Supporting the individual with indoor activities such as playing with dolls and make up, building life skills and independence.  

Female support worker required. Driver preferred. Experience with working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities essential.

People that we support here have a mixture of communication, mobility and health needs and this would be described as a quiet but active environment. This location is perfect for access to local transport being close to the train station and bus routes, with the local town and seaside just up the road.

I am a man who experiences autism, epilepsy and sometimes I may display behaviour which can be described as challenging. I enjoy going out and about every day, but I can get anxious when I don't know what is happening, something annoys me or if I don't understand what is going on. I am lots of fun to be with and want people to work with me who care about me and are dedicated to supporting me to do every day things like eating healthily, keeping fit and learning new skills. I love to go to my favourite parks and for long walks in the countryside and going out for cake!

I love a foot massage as it relaxes me and keeps me calm.

I cannot speak but I can tell you what I want to do by using my picture communication system. You need to learn my language, and we can then have some fun. 

I must have a predictable, structured and consistent routine.

As a member of my team, you will be given full training and induction from my Team Leader and you first few shifts will be alongside her so you can get to know me and I can get to know you!

As a Support Worker, you will make a real difference to people's lives! Passionate about people, you will enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own life and career too, as you gain the experience and training you need to progress with us.

This is a brand new supported living service in Sandwich and we have high expectations for our staff. You will receive all the necessary training prior to supporting the person and this will take place locally.

Shift Patterns

This is a 24-hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts including nights and some weekends. There is always the option to discuss flexible shifts such as nights only, weekends only and part time hours.

Role Responsibility

About the role

• I need my support workers to be patient, understanding and confident in their approach.
• My support workers need to be mindful of the language they use when communicating with me, being honest, boundaried and consistent is essential.
• I need people to support me to live a fulfilling life.
• You will be required to work alongside specialists in multi-disciplinary teams. This may include Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and more.

In this role, while you maybe primarily be employed to work with me, there may be occasions when you are required to support others who need assistance, rest assured, you will receive the necessary training to confidently & competently provide support in these situations, ensuring that you can effectively contribute to the well- being of all individuals in need of support who live in the location.

This flexible approach helps us maintain a collaborative, team focused, person centred environment while ensuring everyone receives the care & attention they deserve.

You should be

• Caring, passionate about supporting people.
• Be resilient, patient and understanding. It will take a while to be able to develop a strong bond with me.
• Be consistent in your support approach.
• Be able to use language effectively to enable me to widen my opportunities.

• You should have a non-judgmental approach.
