Youth Development Worker (x2 Temporary Roles)

Location: Redruth, Pool, and Penzance, Cornwall
Salary: 14.82 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary (Approx. 8 Weeks but could be extended)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week on a rolling rota (including weekends and bank holidays)

Working Pattern: Four-week rolling rota with shifts between 8am and 10pm
DBS Requirement: Enhanced Adult & Child

Are you passionate about supporting young people to unlock their potential and build brighter futures? We're looking for two dedicated Youth Development Workers to join a team that provide supported accommodation for young people aged 16-25.

Responsibilities of the Youth Development Worker will include:

  • Deliver personalised key worker support and life skills coaching.
  • Conduct and update risk assessments and management plans.
  • Facilitate 1-to-1 sessions focused on personal development and goal setting.
  • Support young people in attending medical appointments.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings to develop effective action plans.
  • Lead group activities that foster community and engagement.

The successful Youth Development Worker will have:

  • Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship).
  • Enhanced DBS check (Adult & Child).
  • Full driving license and access to a car

Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Coach for elite youth development programs, operating on a fully remote basis. This pivotal role involves conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing comprehensive training methodologies aimed at nurturing top athletic talent. The ideal candidate will possess extensive coaching experience at a high level, a deep understanding of sports science principles, and a proven ability to mentor young athletes. You will be instrumental in developing training plans, scouting talent, and fostering a positive and high-performance environment, all while managing responsibilities remotely.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a strategic long-term athletic development plan for elite youth athletes.
  • Design and deliver high-quality training sessions focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of the sport.
  • Scout and identify promising young talent through various channels, including video analysis and remote assessments.
  • Provide individualized feedback and mentorship to athletes to support their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with sports scientists, performance analysts, and other support staff to create integrated development programs.
  • Monitor athlete progress, track performance metrics, and adjust training plans accordingly.
  • Foster a positive, disciplined, and motivating team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and personal development.

Qualifications:
  • Relevant coaching certifications (e.g., UEFA A License, UKCC Level 4 equivalent) or equivalent professional coaching experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of coaching experience, with at least 4 years specifically in elite youth development or professional academy settings.
  • Proven track record of developing athletes to a high performance level.
  • Strong understanding of sports psychology, biomechanics, and sports nutrition.
  • Excellent analytical skills for athlete assessment and performance monitoring.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, adaptable to virtual coaching environments.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
  • Experience in talent identification and recruitment.

Colchester United Football Club are seeking a number of part time academy coaches to work within our exciting and progressive Category 2 Academy. The role will develop players in the Youth Development Phase (YDP) age groups, to ensure continual individual player development and ensure our coaching programme follows the Academy Performance Plan (APP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of high-level coaching sessions for YDP players.
  • Delivery of matchday duties for YDP matchdays.
  • Assist on Individual Leaning Plans for the YDP players.
  • Input on MDT within the YDP programme.
  • Input on the retain and release process for YDP players
  • Ensure PMA and other player records are kept up to date for YDP players.

Requirements:

  • UFEA B coaching award Essential / A Licence Desirable
  • Advanced Youth Award Desirable

Person Specification:
