Cover Supervisors

Location: Tameside
Salary: 110-160 per day (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full-time & Part time Monday to Friday | Permanent for the right candidates

We are working with popular Secondary Schools in Tameside who are recruiting Cover Supervisors to join their teams for the academic year. You must hold an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.

What You'll Do:

• Supervise and manage students during teacher absences, maintaining a positive, safe, and productive learning environment.

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure high standards of classroom behaviour.

• Adapt to a variety of subjects and year groups across the secondary school curriculum.

• Work closely with teaching staff to support the smooth running of the school day.

• Promote an inclusive and respectful atmosphere where students can thrive.

As a Cover Supervisor you will be responsible for leading lessons of approximately 25 pupils in the absence of the class teacher. You will cover classes across the full range of secondary school subjects, but don’t worry, you are not expected to be a subject specialist in each area

About the role

This role provides a great opportunity to gain experience of working within a Secondary school prior to applying to Initial Teacher Training. Although previous experience of working in a Secondary School is desirable it is not essential. Free training is provided by Smart Teachers for those without prior secondary school experience

Our partnering Secondary school/s, in and around the Borough of Hounslow are seeking candidates to work as Cover Supervisors, successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on daily supply basis or longer term supply contracts.
