to join our dynamic AIW team at Treforest. Onsite 40hrs per week.
Amey Infrastructure Wales arborist plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of the CVL Network. Vegetation management requirements for achieving compliance to NR/L2/OTK/5201.Surveying trees along the CVL infrastructure and advising AIW team, TfW, contractors' providing arborist guidance and technical advice where required.
This role offers you the unique opportunity to work on CVL, currently the biggest investment for TI in Wales.
What You'll Do:
- Survey trees alongside TfW CVL railway infrastructure to prevent risks to passengers, railway workers, and the public in line with NR/L2/OTK/5201 requirements.
- Process site survey data and produce TEF 3077 and 3076 documentation.
- Manage toolbox talks and ensure they are briefed weekly
- Ensure all Amey Infrastructure Wales representatives are briefed on the planned works
- Carry out Level 1 assurance checks
- Act as an Amey Infrastructure Wales Supervisor assuring high risk Arborist activities are completed as per the planned works
- Review Subcontractor Task Briefing and Risk Assessments when required
- Weekly walkouts to ensure contractors complete scope of works in line with (BS3998) and NR standards
- Responsible for managing hand back documents and signing off the completed works
- Complete post work site visits and quality assurance checks

Tree Inspection Arboriculturist shall have a minimum of one of the following qualifications:
- NVQ/SVQ Level 3 Tree work (Arboriculture)
- Arboriculture Association's Technician's Certificate in Arboriculture,
- EAC European Tree Technician,
- National Certificate in Forestry and Arboriculture,
- Advanced National Certificate (Arboriculture),
- National Award in Forestry and Arboriculture,
- National Diploma in Tree Management and Arboriculture
- Previous Arborist experience working in a live Rail environment.
- Able to demonstrate previous application of assurance in this specialist field.
