The Supplier Management Engineer will contribute to global performance management at Thermo Fisher.
**What we will do** :
+ Traveling up to 50%, we visit suppliers to resolve manufacturing, quality, and technical issues, and prevent future problems.
+ We provide supplier investigation ownership and applies enhanced problem-solving skills (six sigma) to identify true root cause, develop, and implement irreversible corrective actions. Provides efficient and effective solutions and CAPA management for supplier issues.
+ Leads technical aspects for suppliers, optimizing materials and services.
+ Responsible for communicating supplier issues to Leadership Team
+ We participate in periodic business and relationship review meetings with problematic suppliers.
+ We serve as a primary point of contact to Thermo Fisher manufacturing sites and suppliers in the region. Influences internal partners and works across functional boundaries to identify business needs, establish standard processes, ensure alignment, and mitigate risk.
+ We are responsible for ensuring a data driven Global Supplier Management program that focuses on identifying and mitigating risk across the direct material supply chain.

**Education** :
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required in Engineering, Science, or Business
**Experience** :
+ 8+ years exp. in regulated environment (GMP a plus) in Pharma, Med Device, OTC Drug, Cosmetics, Food, Automotive, or Aerospace needed.
+ Validated experience with a minimum of 3 years in each role within at least 2 of the following functional areas:
+ Operations, Quality, Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management
+ Experience in data management, collection, analysis, technical writing, and driving continuous improvement with a track record of achieving results.
+ Experience in business and quality management systems (i.e. SAP, TrackWise, etc.).
+ Experience in a matrix organization and influencing internal and external team members at multiple levels of the organization.
+ Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt or Yellow Belt certification is a plus.
**Equivalency** :
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and meaningful work experience may be considered.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities** :

What you'll do:
+ Plan and execute supplier performance improvement projects based on requests and inputs from Business Unit Sourcing leadership (incl. projects on supplier premises).
+ Apply select Lean, Danaher Business System (DBS) and sourcing tools or methods to improve supplier performance with impact on capacity, On-Time Delivery (OTD), lead-times, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), inventory and other relevant factors.
+ Provide tools, improvement methods and supplier-related insights into sourcing strategy development and execution at the assigned sites.
+ Support sourcing or category leaders in the preparation of supplier negotiations.
+ Coach Cytiva and supplier resources in the application and sustainment of select Lean, DBS and sourcing tools as beneficial to improve supplier performance.
+ Communicate the results of supplier improvement projects to Cytiva stakeholders and archives project documentation.
+ Implement best practices and develop supplier performance management tools, methods, Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and strategies in-line with Cytiva's priorities.
+ Perform other tasks as assigned.
Who you are:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Procurement / Sourcing / Supply Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
+ Advanced knowledge in select DBS or Lean tools (e.g. Problem Solving Process, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Standard Work, , Danaher Materials System) which are relevant to improve supplier performance. Certification in one or multiple DBS tools a plus.
+ Advanced project management skills.
+ Multiple years of working experience in complex supply chains and with international suppliers, ideally including problem-solving and continuous improvement projects targeting supplier capacity, OTD, lead-time, TCO and inventory improvements.
+ Experience in working in a matrix organization and proven track record of achieving results as a member or leader of multi-functional teams.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Ability to perform in a virtual team environment, at remote locations (including supplier sites) and on global level.
+ Advanced knowledge in supplier performance management tools and practices.
+ International travel and work in global team settings and with international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

- Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems in a manufacturing context; certifications such as APICS, IPICS, or CIPS are advantageous.
- Demonstrates active listening and shares relevant information and knowledge with others in a timely and respectful manner.
