Our client is a leading Engineering Contractor which operates throughout the UK delivering projects within the water sector. With 1500 staff, supporting ten long-term water sector frameworks, operating both as a sole contractor but also in joint ventures and alliances.
They have a new opportunity for a Supply Chain Coordinator who will report to the Procurement Manager and provide supplier approval expertise in line with company and client policies and procedures.
This is a vital role in the supplier onboarding and approval process for their 2000 strong supply base. This position ensures that the supplier documentation is collected, reviewed, and maintained in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The coordinator works closely with internal teams and external suppliers to facilitate timely and accurate approvals, contributing to a compliant and efficient supply chain supporting safe delivery of projects throughout the UK.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate the supplier approval process, including document collection, verification, and data entry.
- Support the develop and maintain supplier approval policies, procedures, and documentation in line with regulatory and internal standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in supplier management systems.
- Communicate with suppliers to request and follow up on required documentation.
- Collaborate with regional supply chain managers, procurement teams, and quality assurance to ensure alignment on supplier requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and due diligence on new and existing suppliers providing timely updates to our project teams.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues related to non-compliance or risk.
- Escalate issues or delays in the approval process to the Procurement Manager.
- Prepare reports and dashboards related to supplier approval metrics.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on supplier approval processes.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of supplier qualification, compliance, and risk management.
- Experience in supply chain, procurement, or administrative coordination.
- Proficiency in supply chain software and ERP system management.
- Proven track record of Microsoft suite of products.
- Excellent customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Confident in communicating, influencing and building relationships with cross-functional colleagues, suppliers and business stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Recognised Health and Safety Qualification eg, IOSH (Desirable)
- Recognised Auditing Qualification (Alignment with ISO management system standards) (Desirable)
