**Your day to day**
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of IHG's sustainability strategy - partnering across departments and engaging with senior leaders to shape how we hold ourselves accountable, both internally and externally. You'll be instrumental in delivering transparent, credible ESG reporting and communications that reflect our values and ambitions and help us build trust with stakeholders from the Boardroom to the broader investment and sustainability community.
As a key member of our global Corporate Responsibility team, you'll:
+ Lead ESG reporting activities, including IHG's annual Responsible Business reporting, ESG Databook, and regulatory disclosures.
+ Manage our Journey to Tomorrow performance tracking and support data submissions to ESG ratings and research platforms (e.g., CDP, Sustainalytics).
+ Collaborate cross-functionally - with Investor Relations, Legal, Risk, HR, and more -to develop and deliver compelling responsible business communications to both internal and external stakeholders.
+ Partner closely with Investor Relations to respond to ESG investor queries and maintain transparent, consistent reporting.
+ Support the Responsible Business Board Committee and oversee the governance of key CR policies and procedures.
+ Lead and develop the ESG Reporting & Engagement Specialist team, fostering a culture of delivery and collaboration.

+ Significant experience in ESG or Corporate Responsibility roles within large, multinational and regulated environments.
+ Proven success managing complex, deadline-driven reporting projects, including sustainability or responsible business reports.
+ Deep understanding of ESG frameworks and standards such as TCFD, CSRD, and familiarity with ESG rating agency submissions.
+ Strong stakeholder management and communication skills - able to clearly present complex issues to varied audiences.
+ A collaborative mindset with exceptional planning and organisational skills.

Reporting into the Sustainability Manager but equally involved with the Group Corporate Responsibility Manager, responsibilities will range from managing employee volunteering initiatives and fundraising for charities to carbon reduction, waste management, energy efficiency and supply chain. The individual will produce research and other written materials to help tangibly improve the airport’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) credentials both in substance and perception.


Role Responsibilities:

As the Apprentice progresses through their learning journey, their involvement and the complexity of their work will evolve.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Support and drive the delivery of initiatives, campaigns and projects.
  • Take responsibility for related measuring, monitoring & reporting activities including water and air quality, noise monitoring and carbon emissions.
