The Systems Administrator will be responsible for:
- Managing and maintaining server infrastructure (virtual and physical). li>Administering and supporting VMware platforms.
- Overseeing Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including domain setups and security.
- Configuring and managing firewalls, and supporting networks (VLANs, switches).
- Producing accurate documentation and reports.
- Assisting with IT projects, supplier liaison, and technology upgrades.
The Systems Administrator will have the following:
- Proven experience in server infrastructure administration.
- Strong VMware skills.
- Microsoft 365 and Azure administration expertise.
- Good understanding of firewalls and networking fundamentals.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Hybrid - 3 days per week in the Maidenhead Office
As a Systems Administrator you will be supporting both internal and external hosted systems by managing hardware and software infrastructure. You'll play a key role in supporting Hosted operations, handling complex support requests, collaborating across departments, and maintaining high availability and performance of systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, identify, and correct issues with platforms including HyperV, Application Support, Server, SAN/NAS etc
- Design and select storage, data centre, network, and client/server environments to design solutions in line with industry best practice.
- Maintain assigned portals/websites, using content creation and management tools as well as digital media.
- Perform website/applications software tests and respond to user emails to monitor, diagnose, and correct performance issues.
- Provide fault isolation and resolution to limit and address issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively across technical teams when working on, through or escalating issues.
Technical Skills:
- Solid foundation in networking principles.
- Proficiency in Windows Server and Active Directory administration and issue resolution.
- Strong understanding of Windows Clustering for high-availability services.
- Experience with Windows backup solutions - Veeam preferred
- Experience administering SAN solutions (e.g., provisioning, monitoring).
- Good understanding of Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
- Good understanding of SQL Server - including monitoring, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.
- Experience with Windows Certificate Management is a plus.
- Ability to write/debug PowerShell scripts for automation and system tasks.
- Good to great understanding of switch configuration and firewall rule sets is a strong plus.
- Barracuda platform knowledge - including Load Balancer, Web Application Firewall (WAF), and NextGen Firewall - is highly desirable.
- Cisco ASA firewall experience is a strong bonus
- Hands-on experience with Hyper-V vitalisation platform - Including clustering/clustered storage
- A good understanding of PCI-DSS Practice is a plus
