**The Role:**
We are in search of a Systems Engineering Lead for our Leidos engineering capability. The successful Systems Engineer will have a full understanding of the principles of systems engineering, will have prior experience as a Systems Engineer on a major programme involving accepting and integrating deliveries from suppliers.
As a Systems Engineer in Leidos, you will be immersed in one of our key programmes - transformation from legacy systems to cloud. On behalf of our central government customer, you will have direct impact on the current and future iterations of one of our most important pieces of critical national infrastructure.

Using your experience in Systems Engineering, you will be responsible for working with customers and suppliers to execute/lead Systems Engineering activities across the full lifecycle.

**What Does Leidos Need From Me?**
+ Systems Engineering knowledge:
+ You must have demonstrable knowledge and experience of applying the development lifecycle, requirements management & design, and baseline management, with a solid understanding of the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook.
+ You must be experienced with Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
+ You must have demonstrable knowledge and experience of performing Trade Studies, drawing conclusions and making recommendations to stakeholders.
+ A solid foundation in security principles and practices is essential.
+ Desirable technical knowledge:
+ Familiarity with On-Premise Infrastructure solutions, e.g. VMWare ESXI, SAN Storage.
+ Familiarity with AWS based Cloud solutions.
+ Experience of working within a Bid / pre-sales environment.
+ Knowledge of TOGAF/MODAF.

+ Leading preparation of technical proposals in responses to bids
+ Leading requirements analysis and management tasks - from capturing customer requirements to developing requirement sets for sub-systems & suppliers
+ Leading systems design and development tasks - working both internally and closely with the existing supply chain and strategic partnerships to develop technical solutions

**Required Experience**

The following 3 years will consist of practical training in various engineering disciplines at our Marine Power Test Facility across all engineering elements including Power Systems / Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Commissioning & Test. **About the Opportunity**
We are looking for an individual with a strong background in systems engineering management for secure systems in Defence through the entire systems lifecycle. You will report into the business unit's head of market for Defence and will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of projects with a cyber security focus within our Defence portfolio.
Specific responsibilities are as follows:
+ Overseeing technical responses for large and complex cyber system tenders
+ Engineering management of tenders and contracted work to ensure appropriate quality
+ Defining appropriate engineering processes for programme execution
+ Engineering estimation (bid phase and execution phase)
+ Engineering planning across multi-disciplinary teams
+ Engineering resource allocation and coordination across a partner/supplier ecosystem
**Here's What You'll Need**
+ Multiple years' relevant Systems Engineering experience, with proven success in both project delivery and winning new business in Defence
+ In-depth understanding of ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288
+ In depth knowledge of MOD cybersecurity standards and Secure by Design, with practical experience of applying them on defence projects
+ Excellent presentation and written skills
+ Ability to analyse and solve complex problems
+ Ability to lead and coordinate activities across a wide ecosystem of suppliers and partners.
+ Systems Engineering QA
+ Line management for multi-disciplinary teams
+ Managed service provision (ITIL, ITSM, ISO20001, SIAM)
+ Hold current SC or DV clearance, or able to obtain clearance
