Our client has been established for more than 20 years and are recognised as market leaders in the provision of bespoke innovative materials handling and automation solutions to a diverse range of clients and industry sectors throughout the UK, and as a result of continued success and a planned program of strategic growth for 2026, they are now seeking to recruit a local and experienced Systems Integration Manager to complement their professional and highly respected team based near Nottingham.
With the primary objective of ensuring the design of automated solutions are achievable and meet customer requirements. With each new project valued between £00k to 5m the role begins during the sales phase, helping to shape solutions before carrying forward the ‘design intent’ into the realization phase. With the in-depth knowledge of a solution, the Systems Integration Manager will then ensure the necessary checks are in place to validate the requirement brief has been achieved before overseeing the official acceptance of a system by the customer.
Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging role will include (but not be limited to):
- Providing technical insight and feedback on solutions during the sales phase, supporting solution development whilst maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and competitive tenders.
- Creating and negotiating contractual acceptance criteria, as well as reviewing other contractual documentation to ensure user requirements are clearly understood.
- Managing simulation workstreams on specific projects, ensuring inputs and objectives are well defined alongside specifications for third party quotation; taking results back to the project team to set about required design modifications or agreeing new system KPIs.
- Participating in and leading system design reviews at various levels, from mechanical layouts to WCS/WMS functionality, ensuring all solution components align with contractual requirements.
- Supporting Project Management throughout the project life cycle on technical matters and schedule coordination.
- Leading the development of comprehensive testing strategies, including the creation of test plans and script creation, with the aim of mitigating risk and achieving successful FAT & SAT with the customer.
- Lead on-site testing and commissioning, manage test execution, client communications, and drive defect resolution to closeout.
To be considered for this exceptional Systems Integration Manager position it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate at least 5 years’ experience in the materials handling and automation solutions sector including on site commissioning and test experience, with proven knowledge of engineering management, automation solution design and warehouse operational management and a flexible and willing approach to attend sites for extended periods as required.

- Experience in regulated and Safety critical environments (e.g. Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Rail, Automotive, Maritime, etc.) with a focus on system integration and infrastructure.
- Strong hands-on skills in Linux (preferably RHEL), virtualization (VMware/KVM), networking (TCP/IP, multicast), and scripting (Shell, Python)

PURPOSE

As the Senior Systems Integration Architect / Consultant you are a key role in the SITA MSI CoE. This role guides the design and implementation of an adequate systems integration solution architecture based on functional and non-functional requirements to support the required business capabilities. This also requires the leading of early engagement planning and consulting assignments with the target markets including Constructors, Designers, Architects and Airports positioning SITA as both industry leader, advisor, and delivery partner.
Working, influencing and delivering in the early engagement space the Senior Systems Integration Architect provides focused MSI leadership and consultancy to the target markets to strongly position SITA and its capabilities, knowledge and market offering to identify, guide and influence opportunities for GEOS to generate MSI and Specialist product revenues.
Core to this role in also leading and ensuring alignment with GEO technical and integration delivery teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and deliver the MSI early engagement capability from the technology and integration perspective.
- Continuous engagement, collaboration and alignment with CCM business and the GEOs.
- Collaboration to develop, articulate and present the CoE technical value proposition to both internal and external customers
- Positioning SITA as the the travel tech partner of choice for MSI perspective
- Drive MSI and Advisory in conjunction with GEO Technical and Delivery teams.
- Interface with corporate technical and product functions to share and collaborate on integration knowledge.
- Deliver MSI / integration and Advisory assignments to build trusted relationship with customers, demonstrate technical credibility and obtain field/customer feedback
