Looking for something beyond fee-earning — but still want to use your legal skills in a meaningful, challenging, people-focused role?
We’re working with a highly respected international law firm to find a Talent Development Manager to join their Corporate group in London. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced lawyer to step away from the traditional path and take on a role that’s embedded right at the heart of one of the firm’s busiest and most high-performing departments.

Think of it as a hybrid of HR business partnering and team leadership — perfect for someone with emotional intelligence, commercial awareness, and a genuine interest in people.
Why this role?
• You’ll be central to how the Corporate group functions, balancing the needs of the business with the development goals of its lawyers.
• You’ll shape resourcing, advise on progression, oversee performance reviews, and work on training and wellbeing initiatives.
• You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders, influence decision-making, and be trusted to handle complex, people-driven issues with authority and empathy.
What we’re looking for:
• A qualified lawyer (5+ PQE) with experience in a Corporate or transactional team
• Someone who can hold their own with senior partners and calmly manage difficult conversations
• Someone proactive, strategic, and invested in mentoring, development, and the human side of law
• Ideally, you’ll have worked in a fast-paced, international firm and understand the demands of the environment

What You’ll Bring:
Degree educated alongside L7 / Masters in an HR subject

Impressive career trajectory in senior-level roles across Talent management, succession strategies, OD, or broader People transformation - ideally within complex, evolving, or multi-site environments
A demonstrable track record of leading large-scale, end-to-end talent and capability initiatives with measurable outcomes
Strong organisational savvy - you know how to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes and make things happen without formal authority
Commercial sharpness - you think beyond HR; you understand how to connect people strategy with business performance, productivity, and growth
High personal accountability - you take ownership, move at pace, and drive momentum without waiting for permission
A data-driven mindset - you use insight and evidence to influence, prioritise and shape strategy
Executive presence and gravitas - you know how to engage, influence and challenge senior leaders with confidence and credibility
Outstanding communication skills - clear, concise, and compelling, whether facilitating in a room, writing strategy, or coaching one-on-one
A resilient and growth-oriented mindset - able to lead through ambiguity, manage complexity and adapt quickly to change
A passion for building inclusive cultures - you know that diverse perspectives are not a nice-to-have, but a leadership imperative
Strong coaching instincts - you elevate others, build trust quickly, and know how to unlock performance across teams and individuals
The ability to scale your thinking - you can zoom out to see the enterprise picture, then dive deep to ensure delivery and detail are executed brilliantly
A genuine desire to make a legacy-level impact - you’re not here to maintain, you’re here to elevate
This is a career-defining opportunity. You’ll report directly into the Group HR Director, work alongside senior leadership, and help steer a business undergoing ambitious, long-term change. You’ll have both visibility and accountability—and the autonomy to make your mark.
