GI Group are now seeking to appoint a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer to our client based in Rotherham. The Mechanical Engineering Lecturer will equip students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with industry experience to join the teaching profession in an OFSTED rated 'Good' college or for an existing Lecturer to take up a new challenge.
Main Duties of the Mechanical Engineering Lecturer :
* Teach and assess a range of courses and learning programmes. This will include all necessary planning, preparation, and assessment to ensure excellent teaching and learning occurs
* Ensure that each student progresses and succeeds within their chosen course
* Undertake necessary administrative tasks associated with your role, including learner registration, attendance, record keeping, tracking, and reporting, as well as liaison with parents and guardians.
* Provide pre and on-course guidance, including conducting learner interviews
* Take overall responsibility for the academic and pastoral care of a group or groups, which will include the arrangement of support requirements for students
Role Requirements:
* Vocational qualification at level 3 or above (Mechanical Engineering)
* Appropriate level teaching qualification (or willing to work towards)
* Ability to deliver to students at all levels and abilities and to use flexible and innovative methods of delivery
* Able to develop effective links with industry/commerce and promote a positive image

We are working with an education provider in West Yorkshire who are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Lecturer (BTEC/HNC) to join their engineering training team on a full-time, permanent basis.
The job role would consist of you delivering Mechanical Engineering theory teaching to BTEC and HNC learners, encompassing units such as Mechanical Principals, Engineering Maths, Thermodynamics, and Materials. Working hours will be 8:30am to 4:30pm (Monday to Friday) with circa 24 hours of weekly face-to-face teaching, and the remainder of time used for preparation and meetings.
The starting salary for this position is 40,000 per annum, which would also include a company pension, and 25 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays) which can be requested at any time of the year.
To be eligible for the position, you MUST have:
-A level 4 Engineering qualification (or higher)
-A teaching qualification
-Experience of delivering on BTEC/HNC courses
