You will be expected to: 

  • Work with developers and UX designers to help automate bookkeeping and tax calculations.
  • Ensure testing and excellent quality controls on the automation of bookkeeping, tax calculations, and return preparations.
  • Help clients and customer support with complicated issues 
  • Review and adjust annual accounts and CT600 filings for microentities
  • Educate Customer Experience agents to help clients with tax/bookkeeping issues 
  • Share knowledge with the public and ANNA clients and be our primary go to person for tax and accounting news; preparing articles, writing blog posts and newsletters to keep our customers up to date

We are looking for a positive, independent person capable of building efficient team relationships and managing.

Requirements

The successful candidate should have excellent working knowledge and 4+ years of experience in:

  •  Accountancy service/consulting small businesses: 
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns through Making Tax Digital (MTD) 
  • Preparing and submitting Corporation tax and income tax returns
  • Bookkeeping 
  • And a passion for automating manual processes 

The ideal candidate  should be AAT (level 2 or above) IAB, ICB or ACCA part qualified.

As a Financial Services Tax Assistant Manager you will:

Our Reward Advisory Services (RAS) team forms a crucial part of our specialist Tax offering - working closely with clients to design and implement the right employee incentive arrangements for a wide range of mid-market clients, including those that are privately owned and PE backed.

To fully grow our RAS practice we will need specialist practitioners on the ground supported by the national RAS practice and local stakeholders. We’re happy to talk flexible working and consider reduced hours and job shares, we’ll support you to balance your work and life.

A look into the role

As a Tax Manager in our national Reward Advisory Services team you will:
  • Work primarily with mid-market clients, providing highly technical reward advice in a commercial and practical context.
  • Deliver and advise on equity reward projects, and implementation of share plans, and specialist tax support on transactions.
  • Work on a wide variety of projects including: tax advantaged share plans, growth shares, cash plans, buy-side and sell-side transaction support, and ad hoc ERS matters.
  • Create bespoke solutions for clients by considering their unique position, providing technical advice and valuable insight, whilst considering their wider structuring needs.
  • Collaborate across the network with many other service lines including Corporate Finance, Valuations and People Advisory.
  • Manage graduates and trainees and help with their development.
  • Take responsibility for managing client accounts and lead on day to day client relationships. There is opportunity also to be involved in team’s business development and go to market strategy.

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as a Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is tax experience within Equity Reward. You’ll have a professional qualification (CTA / ATT / ACA) or equivalent, or be a qualified lawyer.

What You'll Do:
  • The predominant focus of the role is to help drive and lead our growing UK FS corporate tax compliance book of business, both in terms of successful delivery of computations and returns but also supporting with the tax technical development of the wider team.
  • There will be a need to undertake research where required and support with the delivery of cross-border tax compliance and tax audit engagements.
  • Help deliver high-quality work for clients and profitable outcomes for the business through use of best practices, technology and alignment with Firm policies.
  • Work closely with junior team members in our London office in the delegation and review of work as well as fostering their learning and development.



What You'll Bring:
  • Qualified at ACA, CA, CTA or equivalent level (including equivalent Legal / international tax qualifications).
  • Strong interest in financial services and related tax issues with experience in delivering UK corporate tax computations for clients across FS sectors.
  • Good awareness of broader tax, international tax, regulatory and accounting areas.
  • Able to manage projects, meet deadlines and manage engagement economics.
  • In line with the Firm's general guidance, work from the London office an average of 3 days a week to drive the delivery and delegation of tax compliance work to junior team members.
  • Strong inter-personal communication skills.
