SEND Teaching Assistant
Start: September 2025 - End: July 2026 (with potential for a permanent position)
Location: Kirkstall, Leeds
Salary: From £90 - £110 per day
PK Education are proud to be supporting a vibrant and welcoming 1-form-entry primary school in Kirkstall in their search for a SEND Teaching Assistant to start this September on a full-time, long-term basis. This school has a strong sense of community , a nurturing ethos, and a dedicated team that truly cares about the development of every child.
You’ll predominantly be supporting pupils entering the new cohort in September, many of whom have Autism , delayed communication and language skills , and social development needs .
Your Role:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND
- Support children with communication and interaction difficulties
- Help develop pupils’ social skills and encourage positive relationships
- Assist with personal care where required
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions such as alternative methods of communication and visual aids
What You’ll Need:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, ideally Autism, speech & language needs and behaviour that challenges
- A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach
- Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset
- A DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
