SEN Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary Classroom
Location: Northfield, Birmingham (B31)
Position Type: Full-Time | Term Time Only (Monday to Friday, 8:30AM - 3:30PM)
Start Date: September 2025
Pay Rate: Competitive (Based on Experience)
Contract Type: Long Term | Temp to Perm | Daily Flexible Supply

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
Prospero Teaching is working with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Northfield, Birmingham, to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant. You will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to provide 1:1 and in-class support for pupils with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and thrive within the school environment.

About the Role:
Provide targeted support for children with SEND within a mainstream classroom
Adapt activities to meet pupils' individual learning and emotional needs
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
Support a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans and EHCP targets

The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have previous experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting
Have experience in a 1:1 role or similar
Be patient, resilient, and empathetic
Demonstrate a strong understanding of inclusive practices and SEN strategies

Essential Requirements:
Right to Work in the UK
A Level 2 Qualification in Teaching & Learning, or equivalent
A valid Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Two recent, child-related professional references (covering the last two years)
A commitment to supporting the emotional, academic, and social development of children with SEND
