If you are an experienced teaching assistant who has worked with pupils with SEND (SEMH) across either primary or secondary phases these roles may be for you. These roles are initially offered as 12-month, direct contracts based at a brand new, alternative provision school. You will also have the opportunity to apply for the permanent vacancies at a later date. This is a brand new 90 place school for pupils aged 7-19. Their children come from a wide range of backgrounds, but all have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Many will also have other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties.
This site is part of a national trust who are focussed on supporting children with complex behaviours and needs. Their pupils have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and they work closely with them to develop self-belief to become effective learners. A relevant UK based teaching assistant qualification (Minimum level 3).
