Full Job Description
The potential growth of retail and wholesale companies to urgently recruit a Management Accountant for their north London based office on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will ideally be a fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) Accountant with 7+ years post qualification experience.
Experience in the retail and wholesale industry would be very advantageous, as would an understanding of the distribution model but not essential.
The Management Accountant role is reporting directly to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for managing the Finances of the organisation on a day to day & strategic basis.
This is very much a hands on role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing month ended closing.
- Handle intercompany billing and reconciliation.
- Preparing monthly management accounts and other financial reports such as budgets.
- Presenting reports to senior management to aid with business decision making.
- Supporting the FM, in implementing & completing set tasks.
- Creating financial statements for internal and external company requirements.
- Completing all tax/bank related material.
- Supporting auditing projects & maintaining records.
- Official statutory reporting.
- Overseeing Invoice Discounting facility day books and reconciliation.
- Adhoc treasury & purchase ledger duties & reconciliation.
- Monitoring cash flow and store reconciliation.
- Advising on the financial implications of business decisions.
- Compiling strategies that will reduce business costs.
- Developing and overseeing financial systems and procedures and identifying opportunities to improve these.
- Controlling income and expenditure within the business and ensuring that expenditure is in-line with budgets.
- Overseeing accounting colleagues and supporting with generic accountancy tasks.
- Communicating with all levels within the organisation and being able to present financial information to non - finance members of staff.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Fully qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA Qualified)
- 7+ years post qualification experience
- Retail/wholesale industry experience is a plus
- Strong Excel skills (advanced level preferred)
- Expertise for accounting system such as Xero, Quick view and Sage
- Experience of dealing with Senior stakeholders
- Excellent time management and planning skills
- Highly organised and able to prioritise well
