ROLE OVERVIEW
As our Technical Production Manager, you will be the connection between our internal project managers and external suppliers and partners on all technical/production matters, including A/V, fabrication, H&S, local authorities etc. As one of our production and technical ‘go-to’ people, you’ll help answer technical and production-related questions from our team, suppliers and external clients.
You will be experienced with A/V technical requirements for a variety of live experiences, including conferences, private parties, launches and exhibitions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
PRODUCTION
- Understand the client’s aims and objectives, interpreting briefs and proposing creative technical A/V solutions to create an impactful, live experience (staging, scenic, audio visual requirements, seating etc) while taking into consideration the space available, budget, timescales and health and safety requirements/limitations.
- Work in partnership with multiple project leads and producers simultaneously on project technical A/V requirements, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are kept informed of key developments, requirements and actions from pitch all the way through to final delivery.
- Plan, prepare and drive a project timeline and be responsible for adhering to the expectations and goals of this timeline.
- Preparation of internal & external technical production costings, schedules and budgets
- Address any issues, own and solve problems and adapt plans as required, in order to meet client expectations and to deliver an exceptional experience
- Crew liaison and management
- Management of project CAD plans, including the creation of detailed staging, seating and site plans to ensure all attendees have a positive experience, achieving good sight lines and readability for all and a safe and swift flow of delegates around the venue
- Health & Safety and CDM preparation - RAMS
- International and domestic travel to deliver on-site technical management, ensuring smooth, timely, high quality event delivery
- Manage global supplier relationships; sourcing, briefing, negotiating and monitoring to ensure deadlines and budgets are met and service delivery matches Sleek’s expectations.
- Preparation and ongoing management of budgets in multiple currencies in Procim, ensuring 100% accuracy with any fluctuations justified, adhering to internal processes including recording quotes, creating PO's, payment schedules, processing invoices accurately and post event reconciliation. When supporting larger projects, you will be expected to own areas of the budget, where regular reporting will be essential
- Strong commercialism, driving supplier negotiations, maintaining cash flow according to Sleek’s financial processes and protecting our profit margins, particularly in cases of scope creep
- Actively participating in internal and external debriefs for the purposes of review and continual improvement
- Sharing learnings with the team from an operational, technical, content and supplier perspective
- Managing the post-event administrative process, including working with Marketing to create a case study
- Actively liaise with team leadership to provide feedback and suggestions on possible enhancements and improvements or alternative ways of approaching Sleek’s technical production offering to clients
PRODUCTION KNOWLEDGE
- Keep abreast of new technology, equipment and innovations and knowledge share with clients and team members
- Leverage, maintain and develop a list of trusted contacts and suppliers you can rely on when in need
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Contribute creative technical A/V ideas, research suppliers and prepare costings for RFPs/proposals
- Contributing to new business development including industry networking, building relationships, obtaining referrals and liaising with contacts within your existing network
Requirements
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- Experience in a similar event agency, client facing technical role
- In-depth understanding of all technical disciplines, including sound, lighting, video, set construction and rigging
- A team player who is always approachable yet tenacious, especially around best practice process and behaviours. Ability and desire to work collaboratively as part of a busy team, providing excellent support
- Sound knowledge of CAD and, ideally, ability to draft plans
- Good knowledge of Audio visual options and capability
- Knowledge of Health & Safety best practices and regulations
- Proficient in managing complex multi currency budgets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Impeccable organisation skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Very strong project management and decision-making skills
- An ability and willingness to travel (UK and internationally) for site inspections and event delivery
- The right to work in the UK
- Experience in the following is preferable; PROCIM, Google Docs, Salesforce
- Ability to start early to mid September is ideal

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of event production for a variety of events, such as exhibitions, conferences, brand activations, and awards ceremonies. ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dynamic and ever curious Senior Technical Production Manager to lead the end-to-end technical delivery of a wide range of event formats and scales.
This role requires a solid combination of technical expertise, project management skills, creative problem-solving, and innovation. You’ll play a pivotal role in translating ambitious event concepts into technically sound and budget-conscious experiences that elevate client impact. You’ll also make a big impact on your colleagues, line managing two of our technical production team members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- End to end technical production management for a variety of event formats and scales; from intimate but high finish brand activations, to large-scale multiday B2B corporate events for 5000+ attendees
- Analyse and grasp client profiles and event objectives, proposing technical solutions which elevate the experience and nail the aims
- Attend venue site visits, able to guide venue selection from a simple to complex technical perspective
- Balance a critical eye and innovation to project requirements, understanding the realms of what could be vs budget vs practicalities
- Work with creative (and strategy when relevant) to achieve the best possible results within the available budget
- Confident in briefing and monitoring the design, specification and construction of scenic items and assets, including all mechanical staging elements
- Produce project CAD plans, including the creation of detailed staging, seating and site plans
- Brief and manage CAD draughtsmen for the most complex of Sleek projects (unless able to do yourself)
- Set key milestones deadlines, working with Project Leads and ensuring coordination
- Manage any scope creep within projects, working with Project leads to ensure we charge accurately for the service delivered
- Source reliable suppliers and manage relationships; commission, briefing, negotiating and monitoring performance
- Have a strong understanding of international and regional requirements and nuances, able to apply them to ensure a successful project
- Produce detailed and accurate technical running orders
- Produce robust HSE documentation, knowing when to subcontract it to a 3rd party
- Ensure all H&S protocols are followed on site
- Attend client meetings, calls and reviews on a regular basis, building strong, authentic client relationships
FINANCE
- Confident and experienced in budget control/management of technical production cost ranging £100K >£800K
- Support project reconciliations, keeping accurate records and maintaining profit margins
TEAM
- Mentor and guide more junior team members, including line management of two production managers
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Contribute ideas, costings and technical consultation for pitch proposals and RFPs

What we’re looking for:We are looking for a highly experienced and technically skilled Senior Technical Production Manager to join the Broadwick Live team and take full ownership of all production elements at Drumsheds —our flagship venue in London. Reporting directly to the Director of Live Operations , this role will lead on all technical production planning and delivery across our calendar of shows, with responsibility for managing suppliers, advancing artists, and ensuring every event is delivered to the highest creative, technical, and safety standards.
This is a senior leadership position within the Live Operations team, requiring a confident communicator, excellent stakeholder manager, and a calm, solutions-oriented presence onsite. You’ll be technically excellent, commercially astute, and passionate about creating exceptional experiences.
What you’ll be responsible for:Technical Production Leadership
- Overseeing all technical production across Drumsheds events, from pre-planning through to delivery.
- Acting as the primary technical lead onsite for both Broadwick shows and external promoter events.
- Working with the internal planning and creative teams to interpret and deliver the artistic vision for each show.
Design & Technical Planning
- Producing and reviewing detailed technical documentation and production drawings (lighting, video, audio, rigging, power, staging, temporary structures).

The Award-Winning team at SIDE UK is looking for a passionate Production Manager to join our crew within our Speech Tech department.

We are currently looking for a Technical Production Manager to join our team. As a Technical Production Manager you will be responsible for the smooth running of voice production across multiple tech & digital media projects. You will be working with several major global clients for which you need to ensure a high-quality service is always delivered. The ideal candidate for this role is excited about what we do, who we are and is ready to be a part of our growing business.
Responsibilities
- Prepare initial production cost estimates for clients based on their brief
- Prepare detailed cost estimates as the client’s brief expands, and early script information becomes available
- Take the first pass of client, vendor and talent contracts to pick up obvious errors or points for negotiation
- Where necessary, source and negotiate fees with partner studios in requested territories
- Prepare and maintain a project schedule for the recording
- Prepare recording scripts and oversee preparation of assets such as sessions, audio and video reference files for voice talent, directors, and studio engineers, along with any other essentials
- Brief recording studio teams about the production, using your expertise answer their questions
- Track the progress of the recording sessions throughout, updating schedules, voice talent, director, and studio bookings
- Integrate script updates and changes throughout the production and adjust schedules accordingly
- Track the progress of final asset deliverables, by coordinating with the company’s audio delivery team making sure the client’s best practices are adhered to
- Track all costs and handle all queries and issues arising
- Liaise with the client throughout to keep them informed and follow up on any concerns
- Make sure that all QA and editing is completed to the highest standards and to schedule
- Devise new plans and suggestions for workflow improvements and efficiencies either through the use of process changes or new potential tools
- Develop tools and advanced Excel spreadsheets to enable more effective ways of working.
Requirements
- 3 years’ experience in a role requiring a similar overall project management/project coordinator skill set.
- 3 years’ experience in a role with responsibility for multiple budgets in excess of £50,000 each.
- Experienced knowledge and user of Microsoft Excel, comfortable using VBA within Excel to a high level – ideally with knowledge of other programming languages such as Python.
- Experienced user or advanced knowledge of audio technology such as AVID Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, iZotope etc.
- Experience working with a large number of files across multiple projects and languages.
- The ability to strategize and allocate resources for upcoming projects.
- Excellent client facing and internal communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Both a self-starter, able to work alone as and where necessary, and a team player, able to muck in at all levels to get the job done.
- Comfortable both taking instruction from senior members of staff and giving instruction to junior members of staff.
