SRG are working with an exceptional manufacturing company who supply equipment into the aerospace and defence sector. As part of a continued expansion this organisation are looking to recruit a Technical Quality Engineer to assist in their high-paced manufacturing environment.
The Role
As a Technical Quality Engineer your primary responsibility will be to ensure product compliance with a variety of industry and company standards and regulations. You will be responsible for carrying out internal audits to ensure process efficiency and product quality and you will be involved in driving continuous improvement. As this role sits within the aviation sector you will be responsible for carrying out technical quality assessments on both commercially ready products and new products currently in development in line with AS9100 standards.
The Right Candidate
- Background in technical engineering (Process engineering/Mechanical Engineering)
- Prior experience in a quality focussed role or experience leading/driving quality improvement/assurance projects
- Experience in a high-reliability manufacturing environment, working in line with ISO 9001 standards (AS9100 preferable)
- This company are unable to provide Visa sponsorship so require full-time, indefinite right to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the adherence to food safety standards and managing the Food Safety and Quality Management System. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and optimising the HACCP plan to ensure it's fit for purpose.
- Overseeing food safety records, including knife, toolbox, weight control, and glass control.
- Managing trace ability records for purchased ingredients and supplier documentation.
- Conducting internal audits, implementing corrective actions, and ensuring compliance with BRC, GMP, FEMAS, and EU/UK regulations.
- Developing and delivering food safety and health & safety training programmes for production staff.
- Liaising with Pest Control and Cleaning Contractors to ensure effective operations and continuous improvement.
- Supporting and managing the Lab Team Leader and Quality Assurance (QA) staff.

Responsibilities.
- Ensures the strategy for and the extent of quality control activities for the project fabrication delivery, in accordance with the Project Management Plan (PMP) and its underlying quality plans (PQMP and QPs)
- Advise, assist and follow up on the fabrication project team members in relation to quality management matters and implementation of the quality system as defined in the sub-QP.

This leading international food business specialises in high-quality frozen, chilled, and seasonal party foods, supplying major UK retailers as well as key foodservice partners across Europe and beyond.
With manufacturing based in Southeast Asia, this is a fast-paced and agile company renowned for a broad portfolio of products. As they continue to expand across key markets, they are now looking to strengthen their UK technical team with the addition of an experienced Technical Quality Manager.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, and collaborating with the Compliance Manager this is a pivotal role in championing technical and quality assurance standards across the business. You’ll work closely with a internation QA function, and with UK customers to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and legislative compliance.
You’ll take ownership of technical excellence and driving continuous improvement across the full product lifecycle, from new product development to launch and post-launch evaluation. This includes managing customer complaints, leading audit, and staying ahead of emerging legislation.
A key focus will be supporting innovation projects where you will collaborate with NPD and commercial teams to improve sustainability, packaging, and shelf life of products.
You’ll travel frequently to SE Asia and other global supplier sites to support technical training, drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure product excellence that meets customer expectations.
The Candidate
We’re looking for a technically strong, commercially minded professional who’s passionate about food and quality. With proven experience at Quality or Technical Manager level and direct exposure to UK retailers.
You must have strong communication abilities, including the sensitivity to work effectively with international teams where English may not be the first language. Your ability to build trust with customers, lead audits, manage multiple projects and balance commercial needs will set you apart.
Experience in chilled and frozen food categories, BRC auditing experience and HACCP Level 4 qualification. Culinary skills and an understanding of food trends and sustainability would be a bonus.
