Job Spec:
Proactive are currently recruiting for a number of Assembly Technicians to work for a manufacturing company in Bedford. You will be required to provide a highly flexible response to variations in demand with minimum supervision, carrying out production activities relating to the manufacture of components and assembly of product. All successful candidates will be required to use hand tools, follow written instructions, and stand at a work bench throughout the day.
Duties will include:
- Working with minimum supervision, work in any area of component manufacturing, product assembly, wiring and test as required to meet delivery requirements.
- Carryout component manufacturing, product assembly to meet requirements documented in build instructions, drawings, BOM's or other related documents.
- Ensure that all components and products are stored tidily and correctly identified.
- Accurately maintain production records, product records and other records.
- Liaise with Team Leaders and ensure stock levels are kept up to date.
- Alert the Production Manager or other appropriate staff of any plant or equipment maintenance issues.
- Offer suggestions to the Team Leader/Line Manager that will improve the efficiency and safety of production areas and equipment.
- Raise awareness of manufacturing problems with the Production Manager and work with others to find and effectively implement solutions.
Experience / Skills Required:
- Good IT skills
- Good manual dexterity
- Excellent attention to detail
- Previous experience assembling product
- Able to multi task successfully
Hours: 8.00am-4.30pm Monday to Friday

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Undertaking electrical modifications of electric and diesel-powered equipment to meet specification li>Light fabrication to make mounting brackets inside enclosures and for ancillaries Populating enclosures to wiring standards, and wire the electrical system to wiring diagram and engineering instruction
- Selecting appropriate cables and components for each project
- Reading and interpret engineering instructions (drawings, wiring diagrams, photographs) to achieve project specification
