In this role, you'll be the expert that engineers and customers turn to for clear, confident support over the phone. Full time permanent basis.
Hours: Mon - Sat - 39.5 per week.
Basic working hours:
- 8:00am - 18:00pm (Monday - Friday)
On a rota basis:
- 8.00am - 12.00pm (Saturday)
What duties would you be doing in the Technical Advisor role?
- You will be a part of a friendly Technical Service team, supporting engineers and customers over via telephone.

Requirements:

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Advisor to expand our technical team, providing technical expertise ensuring all waste enquiries received are dealt with in a timely manner whilst being professional and complying with the relevant policies and legislations.

Your core responsibilities
- Technically assess all waste enquiries working to the appropriate technical guidance documentations, policies, and legislations to provide the correct classification and landfill taxation, where applicable.
- Ensuring compliance with the relevant legislations and environmental permits.
- Complete re-assessments of existing waste streams into sites.
- Interpret and assess data (chemical analysis & MSDS) to ensure the correct waste treatment or disposal avenue is provided in accord with waste hierarchy.
- Ensure all pre-acceptance information has been received for the waste stream/job before being approved on Biffa’s internal system.
- All enquiries are to be responded to promptly and efficiently.
- Provide technical guidance, advice and support to sites, customers, and commercial sale teams. (This could involve phone/team calls, emails, and occasional site visits).
