IOG, is a technology company focused on Blockchain research and development. We are renowned for our scientific approach to blockchain development, emphasizing peer-reviewed research and formal methods to ensure security, scalability, and sustainability. Our projects include decentralized finance (DeFi), governance, and identity management, aiming to advance the capabilities and adoption of blockchain technology globally.

We invest in the unknown, applying our curiosity and desire for positive change to everything we do. By fueling creativity, innovation, and progress within our teams, our products and services are designed for people to be fearless, to be changemakers.

What the role involves:

The "Big AI" program within our AI Group tackles strategic, complex, and often ambiguous problems that are top-of-mind for our executive leadership. These initiatives involve multi-phase or long-term projects, significant data and computational resources, and aim to shape the future direction of IOG strategies and products.

As a Senior AI Specialist focusing on Big AI, you will be instrumental in designing and implementing custom AI solutions to address these critical business challenges. You will work with local and external models, engage in sophisticated prompt optimization, workflow and AI agent design, and help formalize business workflows for AI to understand, reason about, and optimize. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate complex business processes or tasks into effective AI agent architectures/workflows. Collaboration with UI/UX teams or conceptualizing user interactions for AI tools may be involved to ensure the usability of developed solutions.

Strategic Problem Framing & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate closely with executive stakeholders and subject matter experts to define, scope, and understand complex strategic questions and business challenges suitable for Big AI intervention.
  • Communicate complex AI methodologies and findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to diverse audiences, including executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

AI & Machine Learning Solution Development

  • Design, develop, and implement custom AI and machine learning models (including LLMs, deep learning, and NLP) to analyze large-scale datasets and extract actionable insights that inform strategic decisions (e.g., optimizing product strategy, enhancing operational efficiency).
  • Lead the technical approach for Big AI projects, including prompt engineering, designing AI agents, and defining evaluation milestones and analytical checkpoints.
  • Conduct in-depth exploratory data analysis and leverage advanced statistical techniques to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities relevant to IOG’s strategic interests.
  • Develop and implement frameworks for evaluating the performance and business impact of Big AI solutions, aiming for significant value creation (e.g., cost savings, risk mitigation, new opportunities, improvements in key performance indicators).

AI Agent Architecture & Workflow Optimization

  • Pioneer methods for formalizing business workflows (e.g., representing how customer support queries are resolved) in a way that allows AI models (particularly LLMs) to judge, reason about, and propose optimizations for these processes.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Collaboration

  • Work with the AI Group to implement and conduct retrospectives on Big AI projects, contributing to a cycle of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Research, ICT, Legal) and external partners to ensure the successful deployment and ethical use of AI solutions.

Alignment with SIO & BOS

  • Collaborate with the SIO and BOS Design Team to ensure AI initiatives are strategically aligned, measurable, and effectively integrated into business operations.
    • Embed AI-driven insights into enterprise planning and decision-making processes (SIO).
    • Contribute to the development of performance metrics to assess the impact of AI solutions (SIO).
    • Support the design and optimization of business workflows that align with BOS frameworks and governance.

Innovation & Best Practices

  • Stay at the forefront of advancements in AI, machine learning, and related fields, and champion the adoption of cutting-edge techniques and best practices within the AI Group.

Requirements

Who you are:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in applied data science, AI research, or machine learning, with a portfolio of projects demonstrating impact on strategic decision-making or complex problem-solving.
  • Strong experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and understanding their capabilities and limitations.
  • Experience with LLM deployment, monitoring, and quality assurance methodologies (e.g., evaluation frameworks, LLM-as-judge, red teaming, A/B testing for LLM applications).
  • Demonstrable experience or strong theoretical understanding of designing and implementing AI agents or complex, multi-step AI workflows.
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying sophisticated AI/ML models that have delivered measurable business value.
  • Significant experience and expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning (e.g., supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning), and AI model development.
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous and complex business problems into well-defined AI/ML projects with clear objectives and deliverables.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and extensive experience with core data science and machine learning libraries/frameworks (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers).
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a knack for dissecting complex issues and devising innovative solutions.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate sophisticated technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including the ability to take ownership of complex projects and drive them to completion.
  • A highly collaborative mindset, with experience working effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and intellectually curious, with a passion for continuous learning and applying AI to solve real-world strategic challenges.
