Employment Counsel is required to join a well known Retailer on a permanent basis. You will be joining a well regarded legal team and be providing employment advice across the group. Candidates looking for part time will also be considered.
As the Employment Counsel, you will be;
- Undertaking a wide range of employment law matters, both on the contentious and non contentious side
- Working with internal stakeholders to include HR and Employee relations to provide employment law advice and drafting employment contracts when required
- Drafting and amending employment policies and procedures and working on projects within the Group
- Managing Employment Tribunal claims up to preliminary hearings and instructing counsel thereafter
As the Employment Counsel, you will have;
- A Qualified Solicitor with a good working practice of Employment Law
- Experience advising in-house legal teams on employment law either within an in-house setting or private practice
- Ability to build and continue working relationships across the group, providing clear and concise advice

Overview
A well-established regional law firm is seeking a confident and proactive Employment Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its Employment Team. This is a flexible role with the opportunity to build a thriving caseload and take ownership of business development in your local area.
The Role
The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of employment law and experience in both contentious and non-contentious matters. You will handle a broad range of work, including:

Advising employers and employees on unfair dismissal claims, discrimination claims, TUPE transfers, business restructuring/redundancies, settlement agreements, company policies, dismissal, and contractual issues

Full preparation for Employment Tribunal cases, including own advocacy where required

Delivering seminars and contributing to marketing initiatives

Regular attendance at networking and business development events to grow a client base

Drafting articles and contributing to the firms social media to raise the profile of the Employment Team
You will also work with the firms marketing initiatives to enhance its reputation and attract new business.

Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in Employment law (both Claimant and Respondent work)
