About the Role
We are seeking a talented Employment Solicitor with around 2+ years' post-qualification experience to join a highly respected Legal 500-ranked practice in Harrogate. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, within a friendly and supportive team environment.
The friendly, Employment department works closely with both employers and employees, offering practical, commercially focused advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied caseload of employment law matters including contracts, policies, redundancy, disciplinary, grievance, discrimination, and TUPE issues.
- Advising clients on both contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
- Representing clients in employment tribunals and managing pre-claim negotiations.
- Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, settlement agreements, and HR policies.
- Working closely with colleagues across the firm to provide joined-up legal support to clients.

About You

As the Employment Counsel, you will be;

A well-established council in Yorkshire is seeking an Employment Lawyer to join them on a locum basis. The contract will be for a minimum for 3 months, with a view to extend.
Our client is seeking an Employment Lawyer with experience of dealing complex employment tribunal cases and HR advisory work . This role is suited to an experience Lawyer who can work with minimal supervision.
The locum Employment Lawyer will need to conduct their own advocacy, at least at remote hearings, and ideally in-person hearings too. However, remote working will be considered for the right candidate. Counsel can be instructed for anything particularly complex.
The successful candidate will be organised, with good communication skills and prior experience of dealing with complex employment tribunal cases.
This is a full-time role and the hours can be worked over 5 days, or condensed in 4 days if desired.
