Role Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging employability sessions to prepare learners for work placements and develop their work-readiness skills.
- Ensure all placements comply with health and safety requirements, conducting risk assessments as needed.
- Organise and support employer engagement activities, including guest speakers, workplace visits, live projects, and virtual work experiences.
- Maintain accurate learner and placement records using agreed systems, ensuring progress is monitored and shared with stakeholders.
- Collaborate with curriculum teams to integrate work experience opportunities into programmes of study.
- Promote innovation and best practice within the work experience and wider careers team.
Essential Requirements
- 5 GCSEs (A-C/9-4) or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (A Levels, BTEC National, GNVQ Advanced).
- Qualification in teaching, instructing, coaching, mentoring, or advice and guidance - or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience of working with young people individually and in groups.
- Experience of building and maintaining relationships with employers and external partners.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident using data systems.
Desirable but not essential
- Level 2 Safeguarding qualification or willingness to obtain.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of FE/HE curriculum pathways including T-Levels, Study Programmes, and Apprenticeships.

Or, are you an experienced permit to work issuer within an Engineering environment?
Are you based in or around Hartlepool?
If the answer is yes to two of the above questions, we may have the next role for you! We have a need for an Engineering Permit Coordinator to support Shift Engineers and ensure compliance, accuracy and safety at all times.
Only applicants with strong UK based permit to work experience will be considered.
Role: Engineering Permit Coordinator
Location: TATA Steel, Hartlepool Works, Brenda Rd, Hartlepool TS25 2EG (100% site based)
Rate: £36,440.80-£8,353.00 per annum ( depent upon experience and also including 10% shift allowance)
Contract length: 9 months initially with the view to extend or offer a permanent position
Shift Patterns: Week 1: Mon-Wed 06:00-14:00 and Thu-Fri 14:00-20:00. Week 2: Mon-Wed 14:00-22:00 and Thu-Fri 06:00-14:00

Start: ASAP but pending the completion of a medical assessment which includes a drug and alcohol test
Responsibilities:
- p>Supporting the Electrical Shift Engineers with administrative resource

Checking validity of site induction for support contractors

Preparing permits for tasks support contracts will be assisting with

Supporting the issuing authority with the one person one lock procedure

Auditing and monitoring the permit to work system regularly

Acting as a gatekeeper for incoming work requests and confirming accuracy and compliance in the first instance

Ensuring compliance, standards and procedures are followed as per the process (all training provided)

Printing planned work orders, isolation guides and drawings in advance of planned maintenance

Any other administrative duties as requested by the department to support the business needs
