Salary: Circa 50k pa
Location: Crawley, Surrey
Hours: Mon to Fri
Duration: Perm
World leading industrial gases and engineering companyurgently require anElectrical Technician to join the existing team at their Crawley site. Reporting to the Electrical Foreman you will be responsible for providing an effective electrical maintenance programme supporting all aspects of production on site
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering across a broad range of activities ranging from planning and carrying out both routine and non-routine maintenance of plant and equipment to company standards and procedures.
Duties
- Support daily operations on our cylinder filling equipment through hands-on preventive maintenance and remedial repair work.
- Carry out electrical, installation, test and inspections with a focus on safety, reliability, and operational continuity.
- Complete routine maintenance and testing of instrumentation equipment such as pressure and temperature transmitters.
- Perform basic mechanical duties including inspection of filling modules, replacing process control valves and pumps.
- Participate in the on-call rota every other week, contributing to site readiness and response.
- Work closely with a supportive team to ensure smooth and efficient plant performance
Requirements
- You are qualified to maintain compliance with the 18th Edition for all new electrical installations, as well as for significant alterations or additions to existing systems
- You have experience and knowledge in problem solving processes.
- You bring a proactive, hands-on approach and are eager to learn new skills.
- You have experience in maintenance, ideally in an industrial or process environment.
- You are safety-conscious and understand the importance of working to high standards.
- You enjoy working as part of a team and supporting others to achieve shared goals.
- You are open to developing your knowledge in instrumented systems and basic mechanical maintenance with guidance and training.

Job Title: Electrical Shift Maintenance Engineer
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are currently recruiting an Electrical Shift Engineer to join our dedicated team at a static site.
Working on a rotating shift pattern, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance and support within a large, complex environment, ensuring critical uptime, safety, and compliance across all systems.
Shift: Week 1: 2 on, 3 off, 2 on. Week 2: 2 off, 3 on, 2 off. 12 hour shifts, 6am-6pm.
Role Summary:
- Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on all electrical systems, including lighting, emergency systems, power distribution, UPS, and control panels
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults, ensuring swift, safe resolution
- Assist with minor installation works and upgrades, and liaise with external contractors when required
- Perform scheduled system inspections and compliance testing, such as emergency lighting tests, fixed wire testing support, and generator checks
- Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in line with health and safety standards, including isolation procedures and permit-to-work systems
- Accurately complete all associated paperwork, including job sheets, reports, risk assessments, and method statements
- Collaborate with other shift engineers and the site management team to address escalations and service-level agreements (SLAs)
- Monitor and report on the performance of critical plant and electrical infrastructure, escalating issues proactively
- Maintain strong communication with the client and help ensure minimal disruption to site operations
Experience Required:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation, Maintenance, or Engineering
- 17th or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance on commercial or critical environments (data centres, hospitals, offices, etc.)
- Experience working on shift patterns, including days and nights, with the ability to respond to time-sensitive or high-impact issues
- Good understanding of permit systems, H&S regulations, and safe systems of work
- Ability to work independently or within a shift team, delivering under pressure
Desirable:
- LVAP certification
- Experience with BMS systems, UPS, and generator testing
- Knowledge of HVAC and other building systems (to assist multi-skilled teams)
