We are working with a key client who are part of the global $7.2 billion publicly listed Corporation. They are a class leading supplier and highly trusted brand within the aerospace industry, manufacturing precision gear splined and threaded components for key clients including Rolls Royce, Eaton, Collins Aerospace, Safran Power Systems, Meggitt and many more. We are now recruiting very experienced CNC Mill/Turn Programmer to join this business.
Key skills required of the CNC Mill/Turn Programmer:
- Must have a minimum of 4 years working experience as a CNC Mill/Turn- Programmer
- Previous Aerospace experience or similar is required
- Must be experienced setter operator on Mill/Turn machines
- Competent in offline programming CMZ Mill/Turn machines and Takisawa CNC Turning machines
- High degree of proficiency in programming Fanuc control machinery (G & M codes)
- FAPT and Manual Guide-I is would be an advantage
- Previous experience of working with a range of materials such as, Stainless Steel, Nylon, Titanium, Inconel & Aluminium to typical tolerance of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005” (0.0125 mm) in line with customer specifications.
- We require either apprentice trained or qualified by experienced engineer
- Edge Cam Programming would be a distinct advantage
The successful CNC Mill/Turn Programmer will be programming, Setting & Operating CNC Mill/Turn machines and other machines within the Turning area to produce components to customer specification.
In return my client are offering an excellent basic rate, free on site parking, overtime payable at x1.5 hourly rate, discretionary site bonus scheme and other benefits to be confirmed.
The shift runs Monday to Thursday , starting at 3:00 PM and finishing at 1:30 AM from Monday to Wednesday, and 1:00 AM on Thursday—totalling 39.5 hours per week .

The role:
You’ll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC machines to produce high-precision components to exacting aerospace standards. Working closely with Planning, Quality, and other departments, you’ll help develop new manufacturing methods for both prototype and repeat work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set, and operate CNC Mill/Turn machines and other turning equipment to tight tolerances
- Develop manufacturing methods for new product introductions
- Work with a variety of materials including Stainless Steel, Nylon, Titanium, Inconel & Aluminium
- Record accurate job timings in the ERP system
- Maintain 6S standards on the shop floor
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- What we are looking for:
- Strong background in CNC Mill/Turn machining in aerospace or similar high-precision industries
- Skilled in offline programming for Mill/Turn and CNC Turning machines with Fanuc controls
- Experience working to tolerances

**Position Purpose**
The CNC Mill Machinist is a vital member of our manufacturing team, responsible for producing precision components using CNC machine tools. This role requires the operation and setup of various milling machines to manufacture parts of different sizes and volumes, utilizing jigs and fixtures to ensure accuracy. The machinist plays a key part in maintaining production efficiency, quality, and safety standards while collaborating across departments to solve problems and continuously improve processes.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
+ Perform quality checks using precision measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges) to ensure finished products meet tolerances.
+ Load raw materials and select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and machine programs.
+ Optimize machining processes to reduce cycle times and improve part quality.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
+ Maintain machine cleanliness, lubrication, and basic maintenance to ensure reliability.
+ Interpret technical drawings, CAD models, and work instructions accurately.
+ Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and other team members to resolve production issues.
+ Adhere to all health, safety, and quality regulations within the workshop.
**Position Requirements**
+ Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
+ Familiarity with manual machining, such as lathe, press brake, or surface grinding.
+ Knowledge of CNC programming (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain)
+ Experience working in aerospace, automotive, or high-precision industries.
