Software Engineer - London (Hybrid) - up to 70,000 + Benefits - Ref 1947

I am currently recruiting for a Software Engineer to work for a fascinating company within the space domain that are pushing the boundaries of technology based in London. Salary up to 70,000 + Benefits.

The company is very highly regarded within the industry and has some incredible projects currently ongoing, some of which will make national headlines once delivered. They have grown from strength to strength and doubled in size last year, with ambitious but realistic growth plans forecast this year.

To support the business with its future plans as well as enabling them to be able to deliver upon their current project demands they have the need to appoint another Software Engineer on a permanent basis.

In this role as a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for coding in Rust and C/C++. Initially this will be on the ground software to integrate with mission control software, but this will diversify in time to be more focused on the flight dynamics element.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree educated
• At least 2 years' commercial experience as a Software Engineer or similar unless you have completed a PhD
• Experience with Rust or C/C++

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience developing software for Satellites. Ground Segment, Ground Station or Mission Control applications
• Embedded Software

They're also very focused on testing, where you'll regularly follow TDD, so they're looking for Engineers who value and understand the importance of quality code.

You'll ideally have experience with most of the following;

** Front end Development (HTML, CSS and JavaScript)

** Working with Databases (ideally PostgreSQL)

Experience with the following is highly desirable;

About the company

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM, based in Warwick, who are seeking a Software Engineer to join their team

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities, including key performance indicators

• Working with control boards to perform microcontroller software testing
• Analyse system level requirements and decompose to software requirements
• Design software components in line with requirements
• Implement software components using MATLAB/Simulink and/or C/C++ code
• Develop and execute software component unit test cases
• Contribute to software validation activities using Model in Loop, Software in Loop and Hardware in Loop platforms
• Contribute to software code reviews
• Deliver verified and validated software according to project deliverables and timing
• Assist in process alignment and adherence to key internal and industry standard coding rules and practices to ensure compliance with ASPICE and ISO 26262.
• Contribute to software issue resolution (including out of process updates and rapid prototype containment of issues)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Solid background in control system design and embedded software development for power electronic converters
