I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Supervisor to join a leading contractor on the NH East contract. This role is all about overseeing and planning traffic management for technology works, leading a team of Road Space Coordinators, and making sure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
The Role:
·Taking ownership of traffic management planning and delivery.
·Leading and supporting a team of Road Space Coordinators.
·Managing subcontractors and operational teams to hit quality and productivity targets.
·Handling road space applications, RAMS, and compliance checks.
·Carrying out site visits across NH East.
·Promoting safe working practices and a positive team culture.
·Overseeing depot facilities, including audits and checks.
What we're looking for:
·Experience in traffic management (ideally high-speed).
·Strong organisational and leadership skills.
·Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc).
·Flexibility to travel across sites within NH East.

·12 A/B
·12 C
·12D T7 for Managers & Client Officers (or high-speed traffic management knowledge).

KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Safely deliver the traffic management service on the Surrey Highways Contract.
- Ensure the service is delivered in accordance with the contractual obligations as agreed with Surrey County council.
- Carry out regular safety and compliance audits.
- Ensure that the Performance Indicators are monitored and targets achieved.
- Understand and promote the Company Policy relating to Ringway operations in Surrey.
- Have a full and demonstrable understanding of traffic management.
- Maintain the highest standards of environmental, safety and health in line with company policy and industry guidelines
- Plan & Schedule works to the operational team
- Ensure the operational team are trained and competent to undertake the roles required of them
- Track operational staff’s progression in training and future requirements for maximising the capabilities of the team
- Identify and allocate specialist contractors for works as the need arises.
- Manage assets & stock within the depots
Required
- Driving Licence
- At least 5 years experience in a highways/civil engineering supervisory role
- Competence with using Microsoft Office computer programmes, such as Word, Excel, Project, TEAMS
- Flexible and approachable attitude
- Demonstrable knowledge of traffic management and maintenance processes
- Lantra M6 & Streetworks Unit 10 (min 3 years)

Role summary:
The Traffic Manager role reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for ensuring that depot service level delivery and collection targets are achieved in line with budget whilst ensuring that we deliver the correct service level to all our Customers in adherence with company compliance processes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and produce daily and weekly reports as required.
- Ensuring collection conformance to standards
- Controls all key controls for vehicles.
- Monitors and reviews operational performance and takes timely action to address any issues.
- Ensure all company legal requirements are met.
- Close management of sub-contractors to ensure an effective and efficient service is provided in line with budgeted cost.
- Manage a robust pre-brief and de-brief process is maintained at all times.
