Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on locomotives at customer sites throughout the UK
- Diagnose and repair DC traction systems, generators, alternators, low-voltage and control circuits (24V–850V DC)
- Work on electro-pneumatic, electro-hydraulic systems, and auxiliary components
- Interpret and work from wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
- Use diagnostic equipment: multimeters, insulation testers, laptop-based fault-finding tools
- Record all work via a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Work safely and independently, representing the company on-site with professionalism
- Experience maintaining freight, industrial, or heritage locomotives , particularly from the classes listed
- Strong electrical bias , with mechanical skills desirable
