Mechanic / Technician Required

VBE Restorations is a world class restoration company looking to expand its team. We specialise in Vintage Bentleys built between 1920 and 1931 so this is a unique opportunity to work on heritage vehicles and vintage car restoration projects. We are seeking a highly motivated mechanic / maintenance engineer with a genuine passion for vintage vehicles. This is a hands-on role in vintage car restoration, offering varied work with very little repetition.

The role will include:

• p>General mechanics and mechanical fitting

• Problem solving and mechanical fault diagnosis (without electrical diagnostic equipment)

• Working with carburettors, mechanical brakes and manually-timed engines

• Precision measurement with micrometers and verniers

• Basic machining on lathes and milling machines

• Vehicle electrics and basic auto electrical fault finding

• Fabrication and welding (basic level)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• At least 10 years’ experience as a tool maker, mechanic, maintenance engineer or mechanical engineer

• Skilled in vehicle restoration and traditional mechanical fault diagnosis

• Practical knowledge of workshop machining, fabrication, and automotive electrics

As a PEV Mechanic you will need to have:

1. Experience as a mechanic in the automotive/transportation industry
2. An electrical engineering or mechanic background - qualifications such as Cytech level 2 or similar are hugely advantageous
3. Ability to lift up to 65lbs / 30kg on a frequent basis required
4. Ability to operate a mobile device including having knowledge of in app-based workflows. iOS experience preferred
5. Good communicator with the ability to read and follow instructions

Role of a PEV Mechanic :

1. Ensure operational compliance and safety of all electric vehicles
2. Perform a variety repairs from basic maintenance to complex electronic part replacement
3. Maintain and abide by safety and hygiene standards within the warehouse
4. Maximize the number of operational vehicles by efficiently completing tasks assigned
5. Identify issues and find creative solutions to overcome obstacles
6. Safely operate a pallet jack and/or push cart on a frequent basis
7. Additional job related tasks as assigned
8. Receive additional training to become a great mechanic!
