As a night shift Transport Supervisor based in the Milton Keynes/Bedfordshire Distribution Centre, you’ll be responsible for:
To support the Transport Manager in managing the transport operation on site.
Ensures any non-compliance is reported to the Transport Manager.
Ensure the safe delivery of products and the administration of paperwork to a high-quality standard.
Carry out Driver debriefs on a daily basis.
Deals with day-to-day Driver issues (E.g., uniform, daily driver checks, vehicle cleanliness, etc).
Liaise with drivers, maintenance and breakdown recovery companies in relation to vehicle breakdowns.
To ensure vehicle checks are carried out on a daily basis.
Working in a safe manner - in line with H&S policy and procedures.
You will be working 45 hours a week, Sunday to Thursday starting anytime from 23:00 to 08:00am and it will be a 9 hour shift.

Fluor and Energy Materials, an Orbia business, is hiring a Transport Engineer to be based across our Thornton Science Park and Runcorn sites in Cheshire, UK.
Main Purpose
To offer technical support to internal and external customers transporting Fluor and Energy Materials products worldwide.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the specification, design, and maintenance of transportation equipment (e.g., ISO tanks, cylinders, bulk tankers) used for the safe handling and distribution of pressurised gases in accordance with ADR and other international transport regulations.
- Support the development and implementation of transport engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure the integrity and safety of gas containment systems during transit.
- Liaise with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to evaluate and approve transportation vessels, valves, and safety devices, ensuring suitability for product-specific requirements such as pressure ratings, materials compatibility, and temperature control.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for transport-related incidents, including leaks, pressure losses, or non-conformities related to gas containment systems.
- Conduct or support technical audits and inspections of third-party logistics providers to ensure compliance with regulatory and company transport safety standards.
- Work closely with HSE and compliance teams to ensure all transport systems meet international and regional legislation (e.g. ADR, RID, IMDG, IATA), including classification, labelling, and packaging requirements.
- Provide engineering input into asset lifecycle management of transport containers, including inspection intervals, requalification processes, and refurbishment strategies.
- Contribute to technical training for logistics and operations personnel on the handling, loading, and unloading of pressurised gas transport equipment.
Qualifications
- Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma in either Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Transport or Logistics Engineering/Process Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree (BEng or BSc) in either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering/Logistics and Transport Engineering/Materials Engineering.
- ADR Awareness & Dangerous Goods Safety Training/Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Transport Management/IATA or IMDG Certification/BOC or BCGA Training in gas handling and safety would be advantageous.
- IOSH Managing Safely/NEBOSCH/Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) Awareness training or certification would be desirable.
- AutoCAD or SolidWorks Certification.
- Lean Six Sigma (Yellow/Green Belt)/AutoCAD or SolidWorks Certification/Project Management Qualification (Prince2 or APM) would be advantageous.
Knowledge/ Experience Required
2+ years of experience in technical support role for the specification, design, and maintenance of transportation equipment.

About the role:
Working in our rapidly growing Regional Service Centre, managing a significant transport operation, we require a people-focused Transport Assistant Site Manager to lead the transport team.

About you:
You will be an experienced Transport Manager or Site Manager within a large corporate distribution or logistics environment and be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a large operation in a fast-paced environment. You will possess excellent people management skills, having proven ability to manage complex employment related issues and challenging situations, in addition to coaching and developing your team.
