Hours: Monday - Friday 8.30am-5.30pm

Salary: £26,000 -£30,000

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Administrator to support our clients busy transport office. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor the transport mailbox and ensure all emails are responded to and actioned promptly.
• Handle daily bookings and administrative tasks including customer communication and email distribution.
• Provide support and liaison between the bookings/administration department, customers, and internal teams.
• Assist with checking rate confirmations, rating jobs, and sending invoices.
• Carry out general admin duties such as answering calls, data input, and arranging meetings.
• Work with support teams to resolve IT or system issues affecting the department.

Requirements:

• Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Willingness to learn new software and systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable with good punctuality and attendance.

Additional Information:

A driving license and own transport are preferable due to the location of the office.

• Provide guidance, leadership and motivation, promoting a positive and respectful working culture
• Ensure the department operates within the cost budgets laid out in the annual budget
• Ensure maximum routing efficiency, whilst encouraging fuel cost savings
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements with regards to transportation
• Monitor out of hours process
• Ensure timely completion of documentation in line with recognised time scales
• Ensure a consistent approach to people issues such as absence, grievance and disciplinary procedures
• Ensure all new colleagues receive a thorough induction/training
• Conduct regular 1-2-1’s with Managers and colleagues within the transport team, identifying career progression/development opportunities
• Optimise productivity and maintain customer service to our customers with flexibility, adapting to our customers’ needs
• Manage an efficient vehicle maintenance operation for approximately 100 vehicles
• O licence responsibility
• Be cost effective and constantly review systems and efficiency
• Be aware of warehouse structure and cultivate a daily interface

Transport / Groupage Planner

Location: West Thurrock, Essex

Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE

We are working with a busy and expanding logistics company in West Thurrock who are looking for an experienced Transport / Groupage Planner to join their team. The role focuses on coordinating and optimising the movement of multi-customer loads (groupage/part-load/general haulage), ensuring deliveries are made efficiently, cost-effectively and in full compliance.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning daily transport operations, allocating work to drivers and vehicles, adjusting routes when needed, and keeping both internal teams and customers informed. You’ll monitor live movements, deal with issues as they arise, and ensure service levels are achieved while keeping costs under control.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule groupage / part-load / general haulage movements
• Maximise vehicle utilisation and ensure efficient route planning
