Are you an experienced Transport Planner looking for your next career move? We’re working with a leading logistics business who are seeking a motivated planner to join their busy operations team based in Dartford.
The Role
As a Transport Planner, you’ll be responsible for planning and executing daily collection and delivery schedules, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and first-class customer service. Working on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (8am–8pm), you’ll play a key part in maximising vehicle utilisation, reducing empty miles, and keeping operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities

Allocate drivers, manage rotas, and arrange agency cover where required.

Communicate clearly with drivers, subcontractors, and customers.

Monitor live operations, resolving issues such as breakdowns or delays.

Ensure compliance with transport legislation, Working Time Directive, and driver hours.

Keep accurate records and data entry in transport systems.

Develop strong working relationships with drivers, customers, and internal teams.

Working Hours & Shift Expectations: This is a predominantly daytime role, with typical working hours falling between 7:00am–4:00pm or 9:00am–6:00pm on a staggered rota basis shared across the team. Emtech are working with a growing Engineering Consultancy who are looking for a Transport Planner to join their London office of over 150 staff. The London Transport Planning team is 15 people working on a wide range of challenging projects, mainly mid to large scale schemes.
Some of their recent projects include transport assessments for large mixed-use developments, masterplanning the regeneration of town centres, and travel plans for business parks, transport strategies for regeneration pojects and large aviation schemes both in and out of London. You will have the opportunity to become involved in a wide variety of exciting projects and be part of a pro-active and results-driven team with an expanding workload.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Supporting planning applications through the preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Delivery & Servicing Plans, Construction Logistics Plans and transport chapters of Environmental Statements;
- Analysis of survey information, data and transport networks;
- Developing access, parking, servicing and street design solutions and identifying mitigation strategies;
- Liaising with clients and other professionals including architects and town planners; and
- Supporting bidding and business development activity.
