We are looking for a Senior Supply Chain Manager with strong problem-solving, creativity, and operational rigor to drive operational excellence and scale Amazon Freight Operations.
As a Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will be a thought leader in Labor efficiency responsible for short-term and long-term labor planning and continuous productivity improvement of Amazon Freight operators, implementing the strategic vision that meets our customers' needs and business performance goals. You will play a central role in our global business and keep our complex, international supply chains working seamlessly and efficiently. You will work closely with multiple stakeholders across Amazon, from Operational teams who are fulfilling customer orders to Retail teams and everything in between. You'll help us optimize our supply chains to make our vendor experience even better and our business more cost efficient.
You will be responsible for driving key improvements and enhancements to existing operations.
A successful candidate should be able to see the big picture to find the best solution for Amazon and for customers, think long term and influence Senior Leadership.
Key job responsibilities
- Fully own Amazon Freight Operations labor planning workstream, create innovative solutions using data and constantly improve labor planning modelling while ensuring alignment with business strategy and balancing with tactical business needs.
- Own productivity measurement and reporting mechanisms, develop next level of productivity metrics (detailed headcount cost tracking), deliver ad hoc productivity reporting and analytical deep-dives.
- Together with the Amazon Freight Operations team, identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives for the business, assessing the impact on the existing set up and defining the trade-offs between customer experience and cost.
- Be hands-on in driving the delivery of critical business initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally with senior leadership of stakeholder teams to ensure alignment.
A day in the life
Being a Supply Chain Manager for Amazon involves lots of problem solving. You'll work with a number of teams to navigate challenges as and when situations impact our network. You'll spend time resolving temporary issues and looking at the bigger picture to drive Amazon towards achieving new objectives. This role is both proactive and reactive, and you'll have the opportunity to help forecast and plan for new projects.
As a Supply Chain Manager, you'll need to help with both on-the-ground tasks and more tactical work. No two days will be the same. You could spend one day helping to define our supply chain and operating models and the next assisting with a site's resource plan for a busy period. Having so much variety in your role means you'll be able to learn something new every day.
