About this client: Billie is a gregarious, funny, and down to earth 35-year-old woman living independently in Caterham. Billie has a positive outlook on life and is working towards securing an employed role. She enjoys a wide range of activities such as trips to theme parks, spending time with / visiting family and friends, browsing local charity shops, taking time out to enjoy a Costa coffee or spending the day in London. Billie sustained a Brain Injury in early childhood, and as a result, presents with a mild learning disability and has epilepsy (controlled via daily medication). Billie loves music, Greenday being one of her favourite bands, going to concerts and cooking; it would be fantastic if her Support Worker / PA shared similar interests. Billie is a capable, active, and outgoing woman; she enjoys conversation, companionship and exploring new interests.

Overview of role: A typical Tuesday will be to focus on planning for the week ahead and assisting Billie with life admin duties. Wednesdays are for working on goals set out by the OT and MDT and attending the job hub. Thursdays are mostly dedicated to trips and activities. Billie is keen for her Support Worker / PA to be proactive and research events happening in her local community. Billie typically requires prompting and general support with organising day-to-day activities, and your role will involve liaising and collaborating with Billie’s case management and therapy team. Billie’s needs are very subtle; therefore, it is essential that you are experienced supporting adults to live independently within the community and have excellent knowledge of safeguarding. Monthly supervisions with Billie’s OT and regular MDT meetings, typically during workings hours for convenience. Please note some flexibility is required around working hours at times depending on activities.

Who this job would suit: A proactive, organised *Female Support Worker / PA with strong communication skills and recent relevant experience. You will be intuitive, patient and an excellent role model, with an excellent awareness of safeguarding. All care notes are logged via an app, so confidence working with basic technology is essential.  Billie is a smoker, although she does not smoke in her home. It is essential that you are a driver, with your own car.
