**Responsibilities and Impact:**
+ Identify design problems and create elegant solutions.

  • You are UX savvy, able to craft and translate user needs into journeys and show evidence how the solutions meet the required needs with measurable value. You are comfortable working with the team reshaping user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
  • Your design process takes a holistic approach, identifying patterns and workflows by considering the larger system.
  • You understand graphic design and are versed in typography, application of colour theory, consistent use of branding and information hierarchy.
  • You are also technology savvy and have a good understanding of how digital services are designed, developed and operated.
  • You understand agile and lean practice. You are keen to be part of the team in analysis and synthesis to increase consensus and challenge assumptions.
  • You’ll collaborate with UX researchers while also conducting your own research and evaluations to test and improve designs.


Experience

  • Experience with the design and development lifecycle, from the initial discovery phase through to working with developers to produce the final solution.
  • You have Service Design/ UX experience including user journeys, flows, lo-fi & hi-fi designs and prototype experiences for user testing.
  • You have experience producing component-based UI or contributed to a design system and can talk to brand values and how best to serve the needs for mobile, tablet and desktop UI, with experience designing products that meet accessibility standards.
  • You have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in a design role at a consumer-focused company, or government body, and a degree in Design, Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • You have a portfolio that showcases your design process and thinking.
  • Experience working within the GDS framework and service standards is a benefit.

We are seeking a Senior UX/Service Designer to join a major financial services programme focused on building a new platform that enables secure, efficient, and controlled sharing of data across the organisation.


This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on UX design with strategic service design , helping shape user journeys, service blueprints, and experiences for data products and marketplaces.


This is an initial 6-month Fixed Term Contact (with possibility of extension) on a pro-rata salary (not a day rate). £85,000-£100,000


Hybrid: 2 days a week in Central London – no flex.


MUST HAVE…

– Recent experience on banking projects

– Recent experience working on enterprise level apps and services

– Service Design experience



THE ROLE

  • Lead and facilitate design thinking workshops and discovery sessions
  • Conduct user research and testing, and translate findings into actionable design outputs
  • Create user journeys, service blueprints, flows, and prototypes
  • Define information and data flows that interact with users
  • Partner with UX, UI, and development teams to bring designs into delivery
  • Work closely with product owners and business stakeholders to identify needs, reduce friction, and simplify complex journeys
  • Champion user-centred design principles across the programme, embedding design governance and standards



THE CANDIDATE

  • Financial services background , ideally with data-driven platforms/programs
  • 8+ years in digital design with strong expertise in UX and Service Design
  • Proven leadership of UX/Service Design workstreams, able to “connect the dots” across teams
  • Strong knowledge of UX methodologies and design deliverables (wireframes, prototypes, UI/UX design)
  • Skilled in tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote, Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build trust and rapport with stakeholders at all levels
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, agile environments, with proven ability to deliver under pressure
  • Ability to sketch, paper prototype, and ideate to communicate concepts quickly
