Your Key Responsibilities:
As our Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office. Your tasks will include:
- Processing expense claims.
- Raising purchase orders and coding invoices.
- Setting up new suppliers.
- Staff Support / Customer Service:
- Booking travel and accommodation for researchers.
- Assisting with drafting reference letters.
- Office Management:
- Booking offices and meeting rooms.
- Addressing office queries.
- Raising issues with the estates team and ensuring follow-ups.
- Visitor Support:
- Meeting and greeting visitors with a warm welcome.
- Ensuring they have the necessary space and IT setup.
- Updating visitor spreadsheets and calendars.
- Sending welcome emails and maintaining the website.
- Events Assistance:
- Supporting the Events Manager in delivering STICERD events, including the Environment Week conference from September 22-25.
- Acting as front of house during events, managing registrations and queries.
- Assisting with catering setup and teardown.
- Providing ad hoc support wherever needed.

Our client, an international law firm with an established disputes practice, is seeking a senior associate or counsel with deep expertise in construction, engineering and infrastructure litigation. You’ll work across projects under both common law and civil law regimes, often in cross‑border contexts, acting for contractors, developers, owners and other key stakeholders in the energy, power and major infrastructure sectors.
The Role
- Advising on or avoiding disputes via project advisory work; strong experience in international arbitration under major institutional rules and a variety of procedural seats.
- Significant track record on public and private construction / development matters (including commercial developments) in sectors such as energy, infrastructure and power.
- Acting for both sides – contractors, owners, developers – across matters involving defects, subcontracts, delays, disruption, prolongation, and performance disputes.
Team Representative Matters:
- Advised on procurement and contractual issues in major infrastructure and utility projects in the Middle East, including refining, power generation and large‑scale civil works.
- Handled complex arbitration proceedings involving cancellation or delay of high‑spec assets or vessels, including ultra‑deepwater marine projects.
- Managed disputes in real estate development contexts, including investigations into cladding, fire safety, insulation and façade defects.
- Supported clients in situations involving sanctions law and cross‑border regulatory exposure in the supply chain.
Candidate Profile
- England and Wales qualified
- 2-4 years qualified with substantial experience in construction / engineering disputes work; accustomed to high value, technically complex arbitration.
- Comfortable advising across multiple jurisdictions, with strong drafting, analysis & oral advocacy skills.
- Able to manage large case loads, mentor junior lawyers, and take ownership of major matters.
