Role Overview:
As part of the Facilities and Operations Team the post holder will undertake the role of Housekeeper and Kitchen Support at our Wimpole Street Clinic. The post holder will delivery a high level of customer service to all clients, employees and visitors. This role also provides some basic support to the kitchen team.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- The postholder will be responsible for maintaining a high level of excellent in housekeeping sanitation, safety and comfort for all personnel and clients.
- Undertake the cleaning of all rooms, kitchen areas, bathrooms and common rooms from the basement to the 4th floor.
- Report any maintenance work required to the Facilities & Health and Safety Manager who will record and organise repairs.
- Inform the Facilities & Health and Safety Manager of low stock levels for reordering with sufficient notice.
- Providing kitchen support to the kitchen team.
- Have a strong awareness of health and safety practices and policies to report any concerns immediately to the Facilities and Operations Manager.
- To communicate effectively with other staff, carers and visitors regarding clients.
- To be fully aware of the fire policy and the awareness of health and safety practices.
- To treat the clients with confidentiality and respect.
Desired Skills and Expertise:
- Good communication skills.
- To have the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- The post holder will have sound knowledge and skills in the use of a wide range of systems including:
- Fire and emergency procedures

The role:
Our Housekeeper will contribute to the quality of the services we provide by:
- Ensuring that we provide a clean environment for our service users and staff

Essential previous experience:
- Previous housekeeping experience

Key responsibilities
The Housekeeper must carry out all cleaning duties as directed by the Registered Manager, to the required company standards, this may include but is not limited to:
- Cleaning duties may be required in any area of the service
- Ensuring that daily and deep cleaning schedules are adhered to
- Maintaining a high standard of personal presentation and hygiene
- Ensuring that all cleaning equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition (any defects must be reported to the Registered Manager)
- Using appropriate methods to clean carpets, hard surfaces, furniture, bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and windows according to the requirement of the cleaning routine schedule
- Using appropriate methods to cleaning soft furnishings, including washable curtains
- Disposing of all rubbish to the designated external bins
- Assisting in laundry including bedding
- Undertaking control of the stock of cleaning materials and ensure that all cleaning materials not in use are kept in locked cupboards
- Ensuring cleaning areas are in a clean and tidy condition
- Requesting supplies to be ordered in a timely manner to ensure stock levels are maintained
- Being sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the service users
- Ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations
- Adhering to infection control policies at all times
- Ensuring the correct use of PPE
- Following the correct use of the colour coding system within the units
- Ensuring all necessary documentation and audits are completed on a weekly basis
