Our client is expanding our lettings business and are searching for either an experienced Senior Negotiator with strong listing experience or a proven Valuation Manager to join our Newton Abbot team.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to take real ownership of a busy lettings operation, with the backing of an established branch and a central support team who handle much of the compliance and admin, leaving you free to focus on growing instructions, delivering great service, and building lasting relationships.

Department Lead Valuation Surveyor required!

Our client is an established firm of Independent Chartered Surveyors providing property surveying services to clients in London, South of England. With a controlled expansion they would like to attract a Valuation Surveyor to complement their team.

A strong Business Development mindset would be advantageous however, not essential. Ideally be suited to someone looking for the next step towards Directorship, someone that has aspirations and drive to match. In truth for the right person there are no boundaries.

Ideally you would be MRICS or on the pathway to become so and have experience working in a Building Surveying practice completing similar instructions.

Basic salary circa 60,000 - 70,000 however this is unlimited as there will be a commission structure also offered + professional fees and package.

**Key Responsibilities**
**‒** To assist in the successful implementation and delivery of all aspects of valuation consultancy
‒Conduct physical property inspections and assist senior valuers with more complex inspections
‒Collaborate with other members of the Valuation team on the valuation process
‒Conduct technical aspects of property due diligence and review changes to valuation data
‒Select appropriate comparables, performing analysis, and drawing conclusions
‒Perform valuation modelling (including DCF modelling), calculations and analysis and support for senior valuers on more complex valuations
‒Close liaison with clients ensuring high quality advice is consistently delivered
‒Preparation of reports
‒Support senior members of the team with business development, RFPs and pitch activities
‒Gather and share relevant market intelligence and support senior members of the team with other value-add tasks

**Person Specification/Requirements**
‒MRICS qualified or equivalent.
‒Knowledge of property valuation methodologies and techniques
‒Proficiency in using valuation software and tools, such as Argus Enterprise & Developer and Excel
‒Good understanding of property market trends and factors influencing property values
‒Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in property valuation
‒Willingness to learn and develop professional skills
‒Ability to work collaboratively in a team and support senior valuers, but also able to operate autonomously in an efficient and productive manner
‒Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling the development of good relationships with both clients and colleagues
‒Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail

**Valuation Lead**
This role is a key leadership position within Cigna's European Actuarial team, which is engaged in a diverse range of actuarial functions including reserving, pricing, and statutory reporting. The position reports directly to the Head of Valuation.
The primary objective of this role is to spearhead the reserving process and support both local and corporate statutory reporting for Cigna's International Organisations business.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles under Belgian GAAP, US GAAP, and Solvency II frameworks for the IO business, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
+ Manage and mentor a team of at least two actuarial professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
+ Conduct rigorous technical reviews and provide strategic oversight of reserving outcomes.
+ Guide the team in delivering in-depth analysis and actionable insights to support business decisions.

+ Fully qualified actuary (FIA/FFA or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years' experience; Part qualified actuaries with Reserving experience will also be considered.
+ Proven technical expertise in actuarial reserving, particularly in health insurance.
+ Proficiency in Prophet or equivalent actuarial modeling software.
+ Demonstrated experience with Solvency II and US GAAP reporting frameworks.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
