I am currently recruiting for a Product Design Engineer to work for a very highly regarded organisation based in Hertfordshire. Salary up to 0,00 + Bonus up to 0,000 + Benefits.
The organisation has a fantastic heritage and now employs over 50 people in the UK, which heads towards 100 including international employee's that are situated across the globe. They have an unrivalled excellence for their products and quality is at the forefront of everything they do. They are known internationally and their products can be seen typically in very high-end establishments.
In line with their expansion plans and to support the shear amount of projects they currently have, they have the need to appoint another Product Design Engineer on a permanent basis.
In this role as a Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for NPI/ NPD projects taking them from concept, to manufacture and final assembly. You will also be expected to support their existing product portfolio which may include modifications and alterations to existing designs and subsequent products.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Product Design Engineer, Industrial Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or similar
- At least 2 years' experience commercially
- Previous experience designing CNC Machined components
- Experience designing products that have a great emphasis on aesthetics as well as an appreciation of function and manufacturability

Software Skills –
Solidworks - Proficient in the use of Solidworks for concept generation, product detailing and engineering drawings. (Solidworks FEA/CFD experience is beneficial)
Keyshot - Experience using Keyshot for rendering and production of high quality visuals to communicate ideas.
Microsoft Office - Comfortable using Excel, Word and Powerpoint for internal and external communication.
Adobe Suite - Familiarity with Adobe products such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign.
Basic Electronics – experience working with electronics and prototyping with Arduino/raspberry pi preferred.
The role is full time – within our stunning studio. However, we offer flexi-time around our core hours and a half day on Friday.

**Role Summary**
The Product Design Engineer plays a critical role in advancing the Cullen Connectors product portfolio, directly contributing to the growth of the Offsite business and its continued outperformance of market trends. This position supports strategic direction with hands-on technical expertise, delivering essential support across internal functions and to external stakeholders.
In this role, you will lead and support key strategic initiatives within the Cullen Connectors segment, with a particular focus on the development, improvement, and technical validation of both new and existing products. You will have full ownership of the onsite test rig, ensuring robust product testing, validation, and continuous improvement in line with evolving market and regulatory requirements.
A core part of the role involves collaborating with product and marketing teams to drive innovation through our Customer Back Innovation (CBI) process, guiding ideas from early-stage concepts and prototypes through to market-ready solutions. You'll also support the creation of technical marketing materials and sales tools to help promote and position our products within the construction sector.
Additionally, you will assist with the development of our R&D apprentice, providing both technical mentorship and support with their academic and day-to-day activities.
Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, your success will be measured by your ability to prioritise high-impact (80/20) activities, manage time effectively, and deliver clear, measurable results that drive business performance.
**Responsibilities**
+ Overseeing all aspects of product innovation, development, and technical testing.
+ Collaborate with the segment Team to Identify emerging markets, technologies, and product/service opportunities to drive strategic growth.
+ Contribute to Product Line Simplification (PLS) efforts to enhance operational efficiency, reduce complexity, and help the business deliver greater value with fewer resources.
