This role will report into the Pharma Services Group and can based near any one of our PSG sites in EMEA.
**How will you make an impact** ?
The Supplier Management Engineer will contribute to global performance management at Thermo Fisher.
**What we will do** :
+ Traveling up to 50%, we visit suppliers to resolve manufacturing, quality, and technical issues, and prevent future problems.
+ We provide supplier investigation ownership and applies enhanced problem-solving skills (six sigma) to identify true root cause, develop, and implement irreversible corrective actions. Provides efficient and effective solutions and CAPA management for supplier issues.
+ Leads technical aspects for suppliers, optimizing materials and services.
+ Responsible for communicating supplier issues to Leadership Team
+ We participate in periodic business and relationship review meetings with problematic suppliers.
+ We serve as a primary point of contact to Thermo Fisher manufacturing sites and suppliers in the region. Influences internal partners and works across functional boundaries to identify business needs, establish standard processes, ensure alignment, and mitigate risk.
+ We are responsible for ensuring a data driven Global Supplier Management program that focuses on identifying and mitigating risk across the direct material supply chain.
**How you will get here!**
**Education** :
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required in Engineering, Science, or Business
**Experience** :
+ 8+ years exp. in regulated environment (GMP a plus) in Pharma, Med Device, OTC Drug, Cosmetics, Food, Automotive, or Aerospace needed.
+ Validated experience with a minimum of 3 years in each role within at least 2 of the following functional areas:
+ Operations, Quality, Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management
+ Experience in data management, collection, analysis, technical writing, and driving continuous improvement with a track record of achieving results.
+ Experience in business and quality management systems (i.e. SAP, TrackWise, etc.).
+ Experience in a matrix organization and influencing internal and external team members at multiple levels of the organization.
+ Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt or Yellow Belt certification is a plus.
**Equivalency** :
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and meaningful work experience may be considered.
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities** :
+ Ability to develop and / or improve supplier relationships.
+ Confirmed problem-solving skills.
+ Six Sigma certification (black, green belt) is preferred.
+ Ability to develop and / or improve commercial relationships.
+ Validated self-starter that works well independently and within team settings.

The role:nThe Procurement & Supplier Management Team are part of the Finance and Procurement Directorate.

Join Jisc’s dynamic Procurement & Supplier Management team, where we oversee all purchases over £5K, ensuring value for money, quality, and compliance with UK Public Contract Regulations. Our Supplier Management function handles strategic contracts and key supplier relationships, offering expert support across Jisc. The Operations team drives continuous improvement by managing non-core activities and supporting the wider function.

You'll support senior colleagues in managing Jisc’s high-risk and strategic suppliers, helping oversee complex contracts and ensuring smooth service delivery. Acting as a key point of contact, you'll help maintain strong supplier relationships and drive value for money for Jisc and its members.

What you’ll be doing:n• Support all colleagues with queries relating to assigned suppliers, contracts and projects.n• Take the lead on supplier relationship management on framework suppliers and lower value/risk critical suppliers within Jisc.n• Manage a portfolio of service review meetings, ensuring all appropriate paperwork is collated and distributed prior to the meetings and producing accurate and timely minutes and action reports after the meetings.n• Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure supplier management is delivered effectively.n• Ensuring contract records are accurate across all company systems.n• Support in the development of training materials and delivery of training to Jisc staff.
