The Marketing Design team sits at the heart of brand storytelling at The Telegraph. We shape how the brand shows up on the market and connect our journalism to audiences through powerful, creative, and high-performing campaigns.
We’re now looking for a Motion Designer to join the team, someone who can help us bring campaigns and digital storytelling to life through compelling, expressive, and effective motion work. This role will work across marketing campaigns, digital platforms, paid media, newsletters, and in-product journeys, using motion to amplify impact, improve experience, and reinforce our brand across every touchpoint.
This is a key hire that will give us a long-missing in-house capability and help push our creative output forward across both brand and performance activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver impactful motion design for brand and subscription campaigns across video, digital, email, social, and paid channels
- Collaborate with graphic designers, campaign leads, video editors, copywriters, and other stakeholders to bring campaign concepts to life
- Translate static creative into motion across a variety of formats: short-form video, animated assets, typographic treatments, transitions, and digital modules
- Contribute to creative ideation, story-boarding, and exploration across the full design process
- Develop scalable, reusable motion templates and systems to support always-on campaign work (e.g. newsletters, offer refreshes, social series)
- Help shape how the Telegraph brand expresses itself in motion across marketing touch-points
- Present work clearly and confidently to internal stakeholders and contribute to feedback sessions
- Deliver work with a high level of craft, accuracy, and attention to detail, even under tight deadlines
- Become the main point of contact for all video and motion graphics contributions within the
Requirements
- A portfolio showcasing creative motion design across brand, campaign, or editorial projects
- Full proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro
- Typographic sensibility and ability to think conceptually as well as visually
- Ability of elevating the team’s motion design capabilities and willingness to share knowledge through collaboration, feedback, and informal mentoring
- Proficiency using Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Comfort in working at pace and navigating ambiguity, adapting quickly to shifting priorities, briefs, and levels of definition

The VFX team is responsible for all visual effects developed in Rebellions games. Not only particle effects, but screen post effects, material effects, mesh destruction effects and UI effects developed in Rebellions propriety engine “Asura”.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping project-specific processes and delivering industry-leading VFX for exciting new titles, giving you a direct influence on the construction and pipeline requirements.

Your role is to deliver real-time particle effects for the project and ensure that the integration of the work is in line with the project’s technical constraints and artistic direction. Your focus is on the execution of your work and how this will influence and improve the project.

In this role you’ll be:
Determined, self-motivated and keen to both inspire and collaborate with creative team-mates to create wondrous and exciting effects that propel our stories and characters to new heights - from simple and subtle elements to breath-taking wow moments!
This role will be based in one of our three central Guildford offices - each a short distance from the main train station. Requirements
The main responsibilities will be:
- Engaging with the creative process to design and create innovative and high quality VFX.
- Implementing VFX within Unreal

Experience and skills that would best suit this position:
- You have VFX experience in commercial games development or in an allied field such as TV or Film production.
