Position Summary

As the Distribution Center Manager – Bulky Items , you will take full ownership of daily warehouse operations focused on receiving, storing, and dispatching large-scale products. You will manage inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse layout planning, and last-mile coordination while ensuring a safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation.

This role requires both strategic oversight and operational hands-on leadership to deliver high performance in a high-volume environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Manage all aspects of the DC’s bulky item operations—receiving, storing, picking, loading, and dispatch
  • Team Management: Lead and develop a team of supervisors, warehouse staff, and forklift operators; oversee scheduling and performance
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure proper handling of heavy and fragile items and maintain compliance with health & safety standards
  • Inventory Control: Oversee inventory accuracy and loss prevention for high-value, large-format goods
  • Space Planning: Optimize layout and racking systems for safe and efficient storage of oversized items
  • Delivery Coordination: Work closely with the Last Mile Delivery & Installation teams to ensure seamless customer handovers
  • Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and implement lean warehousing and continuous improvement practices
  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs including dock-to-stock time, order accuracy, OTIF delivery, and warehouse productivity

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years in warehouse, distribution, or fulfilment center management—experience with bulky or white-glove goods is required
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Knowledge of warehouse automation, forklifts, lifting equipment, and safety regulations
  • Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems); SAP or Manhattan is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-volume e-commerce or 3PL environment
  • Fluent in English; Dutch proficiency is a strong plus
  • Analytical and results-driven with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred

2. More than 5 years of quality management experience in the logistics industry, with experience in quality coordination of large-scale logistics (such as furniture, home appliances, building materials, etc.) or complex multi-node logistics networks is preferred;

3. Familiar with ISO quality management system, with experience in quality system construction;

4. Good at data analysis, and strong leadership skills.

Our client is a fast-growing branded goods supply startup seeking an experienced professional to own purchasing from the factory gate to the stock room.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Have 3-5 years’ experience in procurement, print buying, or supply-chain coordination, ideally in consumer goods or hospitality
  • Proven experience working directly with suppliers in the Far East, confidently brokering favourable terms without needing to learn their ways
  • Speak factory and marketing fluently: Pantone, GSM, shrinkage, and Incoterms 2020 are second nature
  • Negotiate like a buyer, organise like a project manager, and thrive in the chaos of start-up growth
  • Bonus points for CIPS Level 3, multilingual, and hands-on experience with Xero

What will your role look like?

  • Source and cost printed and non-printed goods (textiles, packaging) across the UK/EU and Asia, negotiating MOQs, lead times, and payment terms
  • Build landed-cost models (FOB → DDP) factoring freight, duty, and port fees
  • Book sea/air freight, prepare commercial invoices and HS codes, and track shipments to our warehouse
  • Chase artwork, colour proofs, and substrate approvals to keep brand guidelines on point.
  • Keep our lean office humming—raise POs, file invoices, reconcile samples, and update spend trackers weekly

The Opportunity
We’re working with a growing and fast-paced business involved in the distribution of specialist products across the UK. With a strong reputation for quality and customer service, they are now seeking a Operations & Supply Chain Coordinator  to help strengthen their supply chain and operational processes as the business continues to scale.

The Role
This is a varied and commercially important role where you’ll manage procurement, stock levels, and logistics from end to end. Your focus will be on improving efficiencies, driving down costs, and ensuring that the right products reach the right place at the right time — all while working cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • p>Oversee daily supply chain activities, including purchasing, stock control, and delivery coordination

  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement

  • Analyse operational data to identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
