Do you have a strong understanding of the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP) and RSA requirements?
Are you adept at critically evaluating environmental reports and providing expert feedback?
As RSA Advisor you will support the delivery of the RSA element of the Water Industry National Environment Programme (WINEP).
The role will help to direct the work our consultants do for RSA, critically reviewing and challenging reports delivered by consultants with their expert knowledge of at least one of the key subject areas (e.g. hydrogeology, hydrology, geomorphology, aquatic ecology).
You will work closely with our catchment scientists to set-up and collect data from our catchments for RSA schemes and understand the need for robust data that stand up to scrutiny.
The RSA Advisor will attend regulatory meetings and be able to technically input and challenge discussions with their expert knowledge of subjects.
Main responsibilities:
- Supporting the delivery of RSA WINEP investigations and options appraisal delivered by consultants
- Working alongside consultants to develop catchment monitoring strategies for sustainable abstraction and supporting our catchment scientists and sub-contractors with the delivery of these catchment monitoring strategies. Negotiating land access for surveys.
- Contributing and inputting into regulatory meetings and technically challenging key areas of the discussion to ensure that our abstractions are sustainable and the right outcomes are progressed though to the end.
- Critically reviewing and challenging consultants technical reports through their own sound knowledge of a specialist area.
- Sound decision making skills based on evidence and understanding of evidence collected and modelled.
- Write and coordinate technical reports, communication documents to a high standard to meet robust internal and regulatory deadlines.
You'll need:
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
- Technically qualified environmentalist (with a degree, HND or equivalent work related experience) and relevant, demonstrable work experience.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work alongside multiple departments and regulators.
- Excellent data interpretation skills, reflecting the need to use the data to inform and influence stakeholders.
- Proficient with the use of GIS and spatial data analysis tools.
- Full, clean driving licence and ability to travel across Company region/areas as required.
- Experience of working in water resources / water industry / environmental regulation.
It will be a bonus if you have:
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
- Knowledge of Water Industry Water Resource Guidance.
- Specialism in one of the following: hydrogeology, hydrology, hydro-ecology, water industry water resource planning.

Multiple major framework wins has reinforced our pipeline of work and provides our teams with the opportunity to get involved with projects throughout feasibility, detailed design & build phases. In the region, these appointments include Welsh Water's Engineering Consultancy Framework, Southern Water's Professional Services Framework and South West Water's Engineering Consultancy Framework
As Design Manager, you will lead our strong multi-disciplinary Water team, delivering diverse and challenging projects for a range of Water clients. This will mean working closely with our Project Managers to manage the technical team and taking responsibility for the delivery, efficiency, and quality of all technical output.
You will have the opportunity to work with some of the UK water industry's largest clients, delivering designs that will shape the way we obtain, clean, and distribute water for our local communities, using innovative and sustainable methods.

**About you**
We are interested in speaking with degree educated Design Managers, ideally with experience of delivering projects in the water industry.
You will be skilled in leading multidisciplinary design teams to ensure successful project delivery, driving innovation & collaboration in your work.
You'll also have a passion for the water and environment sector, with a strong understanding in design & construction. Membership to a relevant engineering institution (eg. ICE) and experience within other regulatory sectors would also be beneficial, though not essential.
