Purpose:

Responsibilities:
- Maintain own and others health and safety
- Carry out safety checks and inspections to vehicles, plant, equipment and sites as instructed
- Follow health and hygiene rules
- Ensure that work is undertaken with due regard to the environment: prevent contamination to water supplies and water courses; maintain site cleanliness; prevent spills; minimise disturbance to members of the public; avoid damage to trees; dispose of waste only as authorised.
- Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid damage to underground utility apparatus
- Manhandle materials, plant and equipment
- Install pipes and fittings to the appropriate standards ensuring, in particular, that good jointing and hygiene practices are followed
- Drive Company vehicles with due regard to the Road Traffic Act and other road users for authorised business purposes
- Operate mobile plant for authorised business purposes
- Maintain site, vehicle, plant and equipment tidiness and security
- Install and maintain road works to ‘Chapter 8’ standard
- Assist members of the public, clients’ representatives and other officials in relation to Company business
- Maintain safety, environmental and quality records
- Report any accidents, near misses, faults, damages or defects using appropriate documentation

design coordination, and project delivery.
LEGIONELLA RISK ASSESSMENTS & COMPLIANCE
- Conduct comprehensive Legionella risk assessments in line with ACoP L8, HSG274 and relevant British Standards.
- Produce clear, accurate and detailed written reports for clients, with recommendations for remedial actions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of clients’ water systems and develop tailored control schemes.
WATER TREATMENT & REMEDIAL WORKS
- Carry out routine water monitoring and sampling (temperature checks, dip slides, pH, conductivity, etc.)
- Perform chlorination and disinfection of water systems, tanks, and pipework in accordance with BS 8558.
- Implement minor plumbing remedials (dead leg removals, TMV servicing, tank inspections and cleanings).
- Conduct closed system analysis and dosing as required.
TECHNICAL & CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Liaise with clients, providing professional advice and updates on compliance and performance.
- Maintain service records and logbooks in accordance with contract requirements and legislation.
- Identify opportunities to improve water system efficiency and safety for the client.
Requirements
- City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Water Treatment, Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, or Environmental
- Science.
- Legionella Risk Assessment qualification (e.g., City & Guilds accredited or similar).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in water treatment and water hygiene services.
- Proven experience conducting Legionella Risk Assessments in accordance with ACOP L8 and HSG274.
- Experience carrying out routine monitoring, cleaning, disinfections, and sampling of domestic hot and cold water
- systems.
- Comfortable working in a range of environments, including healthcare, education, commercial, and industrial sites.

You will complete pre-planned maintenance of water hygiene works for clients across our field-based role, operating across South Yorkshire & Derbyshire to work on client sites, based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities
The Role
- Installation, repair and service of equipment (filters, pumps, controllers, pre-treatment equipment), carried out in accordance with the service plan prepared and approved by the Manager
- Electric and hydraulic installations
- Carrying out water treatment service, at the customer's site
- Performing cleaning of installations - essentials: cooling towers, Softener.

- Promote and maintain good relations with customers, ensuring confidentiality, maintaining standards and promoting the good image of the Company.
- Promote and identify sales opportunities through to the Manager and effectively liaise with the Sales team to ensure the highest levels of customer service are supplied to the customer.
- Comply with quality standards and any applicable industry standards.
- Use NCH Learning or any other Company LMS as required.

Industrial Water Treatment Chemist- Water Testing and Reporting

The Industrial Water Treatment Chemist recommends changes, reports and communicates water treatment performance at customer sites, working with a predefined commercial agreement.
You will be responsible for achieving defined goals and objectives as well as working safely, compliantly and efficiently at your customer sites.
What are the Essential Responsibilities?
- EHS & Compliance
- Ensure you work in a safe manner at all times
- Complete Legionella sampling.
- Engagement in QEHS systems and documentation management.
- Ensure a full water service plan is completed monthly, quarterly and annually.
- Sampling and testing of industrial waters
- Consulting on the chemical treatment and basic technical concepts of the systems with customers
- Complete and submit Consultant Service Reports (CSRs)
- Raise issues with Ops Leader and Commercial colleagues if necessary.
- Participate in review meetings with customers, contributing from an operational and technical perspective.
- Good organisation and ability to schedule and plan your own site visits.
