We are seeking a highly motivated Test Automation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining automated testing solutions that ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and reliable software.

This role requires a strong technical background in test engineering, excellent collaboration skills, and a proven ability to work in fast-paced Agile environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and deliver comprehensive, robust, and reliable automated test frameworks and automation suites to achieve full coverage of business requirements.
  • Design, build, and maintain an effective and scalable test infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation within the test automation code base.
  • Collaborate and share knowledge with other teams to improve testing practices, tools, and processes.
  • Apply Agile principles and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary Agile team.
  • Review requirements and specifications to define test conditions, identify risks, and provide feedback.
  • Analyse and report test activities and results to support informed decision-making.
  • Design and execute non-functional test cases (e.g. performance, security, accessibility) using standard testing techniques.
  • Create business scenarios in partnership with stakeholders to validate feature functionality.
  • Apply core technical concepts effectively within the role.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of test engineering best practices .
  • Experience with functional and non-functional testing (performance, security, accessibility, etc.).
  • Skilled in systems integration testing and microservices/API testing .
  • Hands-on experience with security testing and understanding of associated risks.
  • Proficiency in performance testing methodologies and tools.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain automated test suites .
  • Experience with test infrastructure tools such as Docker and containerisation.
  • Strong understanding of TDD and BDD principles .
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation in build and deployment workflows.
  • Strong Java (11/17/21) development experience and knowledge of the Spring Boot framework .
  • Experience with test frameworks such as Cucumber, REST Assured, and WireMock.
  • Hands-on knowledge of front-end testing frameworks such as Selenium.
  • Experience in accessibility testing in line with WCAG standards.
  • SC Security Clearance (or eligibility) required to access production logs.

Azure DevOps : managing user stories and bugs in Boards, creating and running test cases in Test Plans, and integrating automation into Pipelines.nCollaborate across teams to ensure quality is embedded from the start, including testing

Azure components

like Container Apps, Functions, SQL and NoSQL data storage.nChampion quality through a

shift-left mindset , helping the team adopt modern testing strategies and improve CI/CD integration.nMentor and support junior analysts, sharing knowledge and shaping best practices.nProvide hands-on support during critical exam delivery periods when needed.nWhat you bringnProficient in writing automated tests in C# .NET using SpecFlow and Playwright.nSolid understanding of

About the Role
My client are seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement automated testing solutions across a suite of five key software products. You'll work closely with the Software Engineering & Test Manager to deliver a phased automation strategy that ensures product quality and scalability, using Playwright as the primary tool.
This is a hybrid role , requiring at least three days per week in-office, with flexibility depending on team and project needs.

Skills Required:

  • 2+ years commercial experience in test automation (Playwright, Selenium, etc.)
  • Strong experience testing REST APIs and implementing API test strategies
  • Familiarity with Agile software development practices
  • ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL 4.0) or higher certification
  • Solid understanding of software development principles
  • Experience with test management tools
  • Proficiency in database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle (desirable)
  • Knowledge of C#, MVC, and Entity Framework (an advantage)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
