PURPOSE OF ROLE:
• To ensure a steady flow of materials to all production departments and locate and load finished goods in the Warehouse ready for dispatch.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To ensure the supply of all materials from the warehouse to the manufacturing areas to achieve the daily production plan. All transactions completed with RF scanner
• Supply of pallets to production
• Load all finished goods onto shrink-wrapper
• Cover role – Unload, where required, incoming vehicles and rack away the materials following GRN procedures
• Cover role – Load, where required, outgoing vehicles with finished goods ready for dispatch
• Cover role – Generate trailer transfer notes and pre advices for consolidator warehouse
• Maintain and replace wrap on the auto pallet wrap machine and report any faults to engineering
• Visual checks of racking and report any defects
• Out of hours Banksman for silo
• Remove waste from warehouse, including production waste
• Load dolav waste into the compactor
• Cycle counting
• To ensure adequate checks are carried out before and after using equipment
• Adherence to cleaning schedule
• Ensure safe working methods are adhered to
• Complete daily Health & Safety and GMP checks within the warehouse
• Relocation of pallets within the warehouse to maximise storage, recording all movements with RF scanner
• The job holder is required to do all tasks considered as relevant by their Line Manager
• Responsible for Food Safety, Quality and Legality
Bay Responsibilities
• Load and record finished goods from the BAY to relevant trailers with RF scanners
• Monitor conveyor loading and liaise with drivers to prioritise which pallets need to be loaded next on the wrapper to maximize trailer load efficiency
• Monitor label printing from production, escalate with production/Supply Chain team if labels are not printed
• Create trailer transfer notes and submit ASNs to consolidators
• Liaise with Soleil shunter driver when trailer is ready to load/which trailer needs backing onto BAY to keep operations running smoothly
• Liaise with 3PL consolidator regarding collection times, chasing up late loads/load cancellations
• Review stock in IFS BAY location for ‘phantom’ pallets
• Send shift report for trailer collection update to consolidator warehouse and Supply Chain team
• Monitor DCE waste unit, empty as required and keep area clean
• Load vehicles for direct delivery to customers when required
• Regular communication with Supply Chain regarding which finished products need to be labelled on BAY and then removed from BAY to store in Deeside warehouse
Requirements
• Good level of general education is required.
• Previous experience of working in a warehouse is essential
• Counterbalance, Reach and Electric Handtruck (FLT) Licenses are essential
• Ability to be able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Good team player
• Decisions put forward to line manager
• Effective decision making to be able to operate independently
• Management and use and basic management of equipment
