An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a 3G Welder.
The purpose of the role you will be responsible for the fabricate a varying range of products and materials using engineering drawings and following Standard Operating procedures.
You will be working as part of the fabrication and welding team ensuring that manufactured parts/ fabrications meet customer requirements and that these are provided in a timely manner.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fabricate a varying range of products and materials to the correct standard operating procedure (SOP)
- Highlight any issues to the Chargehand/Team Leader which may affect the fabrication of these products
- Check all relevant information on Route Cards to ensure correct drawings, material have been issued prior to the manufacture of components.
- Sign off relevant sections of Route Card on completion of operations.
- Report any non-conforming components to the section supervisor in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the work area is kept clean and appropriate safety equipment is worn at all times. Ensure appropriate lifting equipment is used and assistance is sought when handling heavy objects. Ensure good work practices are adopted and carried out in line with company procedures
- Participate in and support improvement activities in your area as required.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and procedures and risk assessments.
- Attend team briefings and participate as required.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by your Line Manager, Production Manager(s) or a member of the Senior Management team
Essential:
- Working knowledge in fabrication and welding
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in MIG, TIG, stick and arch welding
- Experience of welding & fabricating steel components
- Ability to follow technical drawings and follow plans
17.60 per hour (Additional overtime available)

We are currently recruiting for a number of Welders for positions based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
Our client is one of the largest and most successful steel-work contractors in the UK, they have recently won a large amount of work so are looking to extend their workforce.
The successful applicants will ideally have structural steel welding experience. You will be responsible for achieving high quality standards in a safe manner within the production time scales.
Dig allowance ( contractors only)
- 40 per shift accommodation allowance
- Must live over 50 miles from site to qualify (will require proof of address)
- Proof of accommodation will be required
- Allowance cannot be used for mileage
Shifts:
* Day Shifts - Monday to Thursday -6.30am to 4.30pm and Friday 6.30am to 12.30pm
* Nights - Monday to Thursday 7:10pm to 6:40am & OFF Fridays
Pay Rates (PAYE) :
Days - 18.89 ( 43'220.32 per annum)
Nights- 22.54 (51'571.52 per annum)
Overtime rates available.
Candidates must be prepared to go on site for a weld test.
The weld test will include 135 Mag Welding Process.
Test 1 - 8mm Single run Fillet Weld.
Test 2 - 10mm Multi run Fillet Weld.
Test 3 - Double bevel full Penetration Butt Weld.
All tests are carried out on 15mm thick plate in S355JR mild steel.

Your new role
Due to continued expansion our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented tig welders as well as mig welders. You will play a crucial role in producing high-precision welds for various materials, ensuring that all work meets strict industry standards. This position involves working with stainless steel, aluminium, and other metals, requiring excellent attention to detail and strong welding skills. You will interpret technical drawings and welding symbols to accurately complete welds according to specifications. Ensure all welds are of high quality, with proper penetration, clean surfaces, and precise dimensions. Inspect and test welded parts to ensure compliance with quality standards. Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production deadlines and specifications. Troubleshoot welding issues and adjust techniques as needed to achieve optimal results.Mon to Fri 40 hrs
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally you will have proven experience as a TIG Welder or MIG, with expertise in welding various metals. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols. Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Our client is a provider of engineering services to a range of industry sectors including manufacturing and rail.This includes, welding and Inspection.
Due to an increase in workload they are currently looking for experienced Welders to be based in the East Midlands although the work could be nationwide on occasions.
The work will include carrying out repairs and modifications on a range of items including rail rolling stock.
Applicants must be experienced Welders with the ability to carry out MIG/MAG, TIG and Manual Metal Arc (Stick) or at least a combination of the above. A current coding would also be desirable. Previous experience of working with Aluminium and Stainless Steel is useful but not essential
