We are now looking for an experienced Welding Supervisor to join our Night Shift team. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining high-quality MIG/TIG welding with supervisory responsibilities to ensure productivity, quality, and safety across the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of welders on the night shift, ensuring work is carried out to the required standards. li>Carry out hands-on MIG/TIG welding, working with a range of thicknesses and materials.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and provide support and guidance to the team.
- Ensure work is completed to specification by interpreting and following engineering drawings.
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
- Drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the shift.
- Assist with training and development of new or less experienced welders.
- Ensure deadlines and production schedules are met, escalating issues where required.
About You:
- Fully time-served or qualified in welding (a weld test will be carried out at interview).
- Strong background in MIG and/or TIG welding.
- Experience supervising or mentoring others in a workshop/production environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a hands-on approach.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings with accuracy.
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to quality and safety.
Working Hours & Pay:
- Night Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4:30pm – 05:00am < i>Hours: 48 hours per week
- £4.50 p/h for first 39 hours, then x1.33 for remaining 9 hours li>Supervisors bonus in addition to the above pay – paid monthly < i>Total annual earnings circa £4 000 li>Overtime available (not mandatory)
